I think the poster that suggested he be claimed by Edmonton is a little more heartless!

I don’t think it makes sense either. If Parsons goes to the AHL either he or Gillies would be playing less. Based on the fact that GG said Lack will be starting the Heat’s next game, it seems like they might be trying to see if Lack can find his game in the A and then bring him back up if he does... unless Rittich is lights out.

You can't send Lack to the ECHL anyways. He's on an NHL contract that isn't an entry level.

Wow you're pretty resolute about this.

Lack will get to play more in Stockton and if he plays better, we unfortunately will have to see him back in Calgary UNLESS Riitich plays lights out with every game he plays in the NHL. In that case, we will not be seeing Eddie Lack in the NHL wearing Flames uniform.

I bet his leash is real short. If he can't shoot the lights out down there he is done.

Lack will be a backup on the Stockton team. They are developing Gillies, Eddie was a temporary patch so that the AHL guys would have to earn a place on the team. I don't see any evidence that he was ever looked at as more then a temporary placeholder.
His performance really lowered the bar for the backup and took the pressure off, essentially people were just saying well "he can't be worse then Lack"

Rittich is the de facto backup right now. It's not like Lack is just on a conditioning stint. It'd take a heck of a resurgence for us to see Lack up here again.

It would take Lack playing well in Stockton, and Rittich struggling in Calgary. No more than that.

It would take Lack playing well in Stockton, Rittich struggling in Calgary, Gillies struggling in Stockton, Parsons struggling in Stockton, and a Mike Smith injury to see Lack in the Saddledome again.

Parsons isn't even in Stockton. And Smith does not need to be injured in order for the team to require a backup. But sure, knock yourself out.

Lack has had plenty of chances he was horrrrrible last season backing up CAR and is where he belongs. I hope Rittich gives no reason for Lack to ever play another NHL game for the Flames this season.
I always want the Flames to have the best chance at 2pts every game and Lack as the backup to Smith simply has not and does not provide that best chance.

If Rittich shows he is not up to the task, it makes sense the best AHL goalie will get the call. Lack or Gilles could be called up and they know it.
If the team has decided Lack will never play again for the Flames, they would release him and bring up Parsons to the AHL club.

They can't relase him but they can certainly tell him not to report to the team.

Without taking sides or wishing to insult anyone, I will admit the tapatalk tagline is annoying. I wish posters would take a few seconds to prevent it.

Lack will be just fine as an AHL backup. There is no need to try and get rid of him.
