Can someone please explain the anger over Bill 6? Aren't health and safety laws and workers compensation a good thing?

I am admittedly a city slicker who would not survive a day on a farm though.

In a nutshell, the anger is due to ignorance over an unknown. That intentionally doesn't make sense. OH&S regulations and codes in their entirety would be extremely onerous and costly for your average farmer to implement and administrate. It doesn't have to be though. The government could simplify this by adding another "Part" to the Act specifically for the agricultural community. This would remove ambiguity and provide clear direction for what needs to be focused on and what will be scrutinized for compliance. To the best of my knowledge, the government hasn't laid out any kind of plan as to how they're going to roll this out. So, because the agricultural community doesn't understand what the impact is going to be (and how could they), they're angry. That's how I perceive it anyway.

good summary, and then they basically rammed it through the vote and said we'll fix it later. But now nobody trusts them to do that.

Ezra Levant is very difficult to take seriously. I recall during the election he was almost disturbing in his attempt to go after certain NDP MLA's, and he came off extraordinarily petty when he was criticizing people for running based on their age. And even if he was right in questioning the wisdom of a bunch of kids running in the election, it was odd to me that he'd so vehemently go after them and the manner in which he did it.

It is odd how many people take him seriously and it makes me wonder if their critical thinking skills are working and if not.

Very few people take Levant seriously. Did you see the ratings for Sun TV?

If the amount of shares his stuff gets on Facebook are any indication, he has a lot of passive support from the frontline oilfield and construction worker groups.

Trolling with your real name isn't terribly smart.

That said, these are the kind of people who have 0 privacy settings on their profile and post racist memes constantly.

Any government leader - regardless of party ideology - deserves a shovel to the head when they ask the populace to trust that they will fix vague legislation later. Such vagueness is achieved either by design or through incompetence. And in either case, merits the kind of backlash Notley received over bill 6.

Those people aren't smart and the few that I used to work with would never get a job from me based on their performances on facebook.

Was the bill vague or did the special snowflake farmers want exceptions?

Just as I'm sure not all left wing people are granola loving tree huggers, not all conservatives are blue collar racists.

Did you lose a girl to a farmer or something? You've used this line multiple times on here.

Here's the act

Here's the code

Here are the regulations

Now, after you flip through these, you decide if exceptions should not only be granted, but clearly explained.

No. I won't. I realize that people like polak who are more interested in trolling than discussion may attempt to equate my comment to the death threat hyperbole. You are much smarter than that, however. You aren't the type that would deliberately misconstrue the meaning.

I used to work in Logistics for a feed company and learned first hand how entitled famers think they are. This whole issue just compounded my opinion.
