I like how last night all of the usual CP whipping boys stepped up and helped win: Bollig, Stajan, Raymond, Russell, Hamilton.

How bout that. Not the greatest win but I will take it.

That one play shows he's good defensively? And it was reaching pretty far....Jooris is at best average defensively. He runs around like a chicken with his head cut off and doesn't know where to go when he doesn't have the puck. Offensively he drives the net well and I don't mind him one bit but to say he should help Monahan with defensive duties? That seems silly to me. Monahan is way better defensively than Jooris.

The whole team hasn't really been that bad, but our key players (goalie, top defensemen, top 2 centers) have been our worst players, especially for what they normally bring. My signature is quite prescient on this matter.
I think two main things are contributing to this.

1) He said in an interview recently that other teams have started focusing on their line (13-23-24) and they don't have it as easy as last year seemingly flying under the radar.

2) Contract talks are happening right now and a few million dollars here or there may be keeping him up at night and preoccupying his mind.

That's just speculation and hopefully he's able to power through the things he has in his control.

Jooris is a good defensive player. Not sure what you're on about

Not sure where else to put this. Paul Byron with another break away goal. Funny how the hockey gods work sometimes. Sort of happy for the guy.

Haven't been able to watch a lot of the games but in these PGT's I always see how Gio has been bad. What exactly has been wrong with his game so far?

It's not completely out of context that his reads and overall game is back up to par yet due to his surgery is it?

He plays with hesitation, got absolutely owned by some of the Oilers. Went into the corner not expecting a hit, got leveled and lost the puck. Gives the puck away a lot in the offensive zone and looks generally slow to react.

That being said it's not a surprise at all coming off major surgery and a long time off. It was a pretty bad injury so coming back in prime shape would be unreasonable to expect.

Don't think Gio has been bad. He's been ok with flashes of his old self. Not worried in the slightest the guy is a warrior. Not the type to mail it in after signing a big contract.
