We need to believe in the process and the process of building a team and not jump at any trade that presents itself.

We need to draft develop and insert these players and let them grow as a group.

You make these trades or signings after that young core is ready to take the next step and compete for a cup.

Add Stempniak for Kohklachev? One can dream. I was a sad panda when the Iggy deal fell through.

For the next 3 years I would say 100% Seguin. Monahan looks like a can't miss player but is he a #1 or #3C? my crystal ball stopped working. And I think Gaudreau will be a star in this league but I'm getting nervious he'll stay full term at BC and not sign with us anyway. (college rule needs to be changed)

Personally I do this deal with ease but only because of the nervousness of Gaudreau.

Ohhhh, tempting.
...

Probably one of the biggest fans of Johnny's here, but tbh this could be a steal for us, especially if Nichuskin, Barkov, Jones, Drouin and Mack go in the top 5, or if Gaudreau can't manage to carry over his offense due to adjusting to the physicality with his size. (though I think he can)

Do we see a Seguin equal or better in Monahan/Lindholm? Very hard to say. But they'd be hard pressed to be as impactful as he's been so early in his career.

I might be on board with that proposal..

Sean monahan also brings different abilities that go beyond points and goals that are essential in building a winner.

Hahaha so you prefer a guy that hasn't played one NHL game in his life, compared to a 21 year player that has almost a 70 pt season under his belt and almost 2 Stanley cups.

Lets no forget Seguin was arguably a number 1 draft pick a couple years ago.

The number 6 pick would be considered a success if whoever it is puts up a 70 point season, where Seguin has already done this.

If rumor were true think the Flames could make the 6th + JG into a larger deal for more pieces or flip some other assets to re-coup some losses? 2nd rounders, 15-20 1st?

Seguin is 21, not a 30 year old vet. Anything under 23, with talent, has to be considered as part of the process of building a team.

The trades you make when taking the next step to compete for a cup should be filler 30+ year old veterans.

Generally I'm getting the impression that Bruins fans are actually on board with that proposal. Seems Johnny must be really well liked there.

Except for the ones that still blame Feaster for the Iginla fiasco, that is...

I have all sorts of red flags going off in my head about this. My gut is telling me that Calgary is on the verge of being screwed here.

Really? Go to twitter and type Tyler Seguin into the search. and wait for the responses coming in. The tweeps are not pleased.

Yeah that's generally what happens in Flameland. Things start off sounding so good, and promising (like we're getting a filet mignon), but in the end we'll get something significantly less than we expected (bologna and cheese sandwich).
