Yup, think any Candadian hockey fan cringed and ignored the rest of the review after they read that.

They will probably have a trade 2 get if free deal but it is unlikely NHL 13 will be on the list.

They have been selling it for $10 brand new recently.

They run the trade 2 get it free deal quite frequently and a list is usually on their website for eligible trade in games.

I love IGN, but this:

And finally, although it's mostly just a nostalgic extra, my favorite addition to this year's game is NHL 94 Anniversary Mode...
is shocking. Reviews are opinions, and they should stay that way, but WOW. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the score, I just can't believe anybody would look at that mode and say it's the best addition.

Does anybody have a link to Flames' players overalls and potentials?

All I can find is this:

Spoiler!

By the looks of things, players like Oliver Bjorkstrand (3rd rounder 2013) and Valentin Zykov (2nd rounder) have more value than any Flames prospect.

The game really doesn't do much for me this year. Doesn't seem to justify a purchase. The fighting is kind of fun but other than a few adjustments seems to be the same game as last year. I'll be more interested in the next gen version.

Their focus every year seems to be on stupid things, this year it's nhl 94 and the fighting crap. Why not work on improving the AI drastically?

Anyone who's got the early release can you comment on the AI. If it's still slow and dumb as rocks I'm going to punch a donkey and kill some kittens and throw their dead carcasses at the EA offices.

To be fair he's talking about the big hits that cause beer to be spilled in laps. You won't get much argument from most canadians that such a thing is integral to a good hockey game.

Thus far the average ratings is about 8/10 which is far from stellar. The reviews are confirming my thoughts to give it a pass.

so far, i am enjoying the early release (i enjoyed the demo also). there isn't much in the game that makes it stand out from last year, but it is still a much improved experience based on the subtle tweaks that have been made.

playing around trying to see what moves i'll need to make to get the heat/flames roster right, and immediately i noticed that i simply can't find granlund or ortio on any team in the game nor in the free agent pool.

it's funny going from playing as the bruins in the demo the past few weeks where guys that are big and string and can hit were a force and then playing with the flames roster. the only guys that can hit (or i would even enjoy trying witth) are glencross/o'brien.........

Played early release at a friend's yesterday. It was pretty fun.

THe fighting engine is much better and makes the game play better.

The lack of a trampoline on the ice is also much more satisfying and immersive. Things like a player automatically attempting to block a shot while in the shooting lane, more easily able to pick off passes when you're near the passing lane etc., make the game much more enjoyable.

All,

We've re-started the Calgarypuck GM Connected league for Xbox 360. Sign-up at the link below and pick a team. Still wide open.

http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=130217

Jedaco has also started a PS3 league - not sure how many spots are left in that one.

My thoughts:

- Cammalleri is too good
- Backlund could use a little boost
- Why is Brodie red starred?
- Cundari's potential is a full star too low
- Numerous prospects obviously haven't been edited yet
- Calgary is the worst team in the game along with Buffalo, Florida, and NYI
- You don't say this game was mad in Vancouver, huh?

My additions:
LW John Gaudreau - 70 PLY (4.5 red stars)
C Mark Jankowski - 63 PLY (4 red stars)

I played the demo and thought it was better than NHL13. I'll prob give it a shot as I'm pretty hockey starved right now.

Not sure how much time I'll have to play though, as I have a backlog of games XD.
