It's more that there are 5 Xpacs slated for 15$ each (or 75$ total), and with premium you get all 5 two weeks early for 50$ (thus saving 25$ if you were gonna buy em all in the first place).
Hardly a scam, they still give you something for your money.
Not to mention back in 2003/2004 I paid $30 each for the 1942 xpacs, and SWOWWII was ####ing AWFUL.

Unplayable!!!
POS lets me play (if you call it that) for a couple mins while rubberbanding and glitching all over the place and BAM how about you go to home screen again!
then the pos continues to kick you off of servers.
I want my money back and I will not buy another Battlefield game again. It sucks because I wont play COD either.

I get the occasional DC but do not suffer from banding nor do the 3-4 people I play with. Weird that you are seeing so many issues.

Any other CPers playing BF4 on PS4? Getting bored of playing by myself.

I played quite a bit of China Rising over the weekend and had a lot of fun. Initially I was worried the maps would devolve into Metro style explosive spam fests but in most cases they have plenty of cover and are fairly open. They do really flow like Bad Company 2 maps and I've found them to play well on Conquest, Rush and Domination. Memorable moment from my playtime was shooting a jet out of the air with an RPG or sniping a Z-9 with a SRAW from across the map. The SRAW is a welcome addition back into the series. I used the wire guided rockets almost exclusively in BC2.

I couldn't connect to any servers earlier in the afternoon, and I managed to get a game in but once we got a map switch my BF froze. It's happened a few times already. Pretty annoying.

What is everyone's thoughts on picking up Premium? I play on PS4 and wondering if it is worth it.
Nicker and I play once and a while (Nicker = BEAST MODE!! ) so if there are any other of our fellow CP folk who play on PS4 my PSN name is = Cochrane44 (I have put in on here before but just in case anybody has missed it).

For the second assault DLC they're adding 5 new weapons (F2000, MP7, L85, AS VAL and RPK-74), and vehicles in addition to the 4 "remade" BF3 maps. You also get a bunch of camos, knives and soldier emblems. I think it's worth it, but that's just me. For the record, I think BF3 may be the first game that I've actually bought map packs for.

My initial opinion of the China Rising DLC is that it's a solid release of content. I am enjoying the maps and I am looking forward to using the new weapons (they added 5 for this DLC as well).
Edit. Actually, while I think Premium is worth the price I suggest others hold off until DICE actually fixes the game.

What do you expect? I am an American living in a place where I can't walk into my backyard and pop off a few rounds. I have to shoot something so I shoot online combatants.( the previous statement was obviously a joke, please no hate PMs).. and my PSN is Nickerjones.

I think I need to join a support group lol. The game has been out for less than two months and I've already played almost 70 hours. That's over half as much time as I put into BF3 over a 2 year period.

I don't think that 70 hours is really that much. I've got 36 on a very limited play schedule, so 70 is perfectly reasonable. There were guys who were hitting rank 110 etc within the first few weeks, that is less reasonable, in my opinion.
I think this game is leaps and bounds better than bf3, and the primary reason for that, imo, is the maps are so so much better than bf3 maps. They seem to have a better balance of vehicle combat and infantry combat. BF3 felt to heavy on one or the other, and if it was a heavy vehicle combat you were kind of SOL if you were on foot. It's been awhile since I played bf3 last so maybe I'm off base. I find it's easier to get away from the vehicles and get into infantry combat which keeps the game fresh. And on the flip side there is plenty of vehicle combat if that's your thing. You're not punished for preferring either. Does that make sense? I'm having trouble verbalising my thoughts on it.
Regardless, overall from maps, to deployment screens I'm preferring bf4. Although I do wish the deployment/kit screen still had drop down weapon/gadget picks.

Good analysis, I get what you are going for. Maybe nostalgia from all the BF3 I played, but I felt most of the default maps were pretty solid. Mostly I am talking about Conquest. I am a tank-whore though, so definitely on vehicle heavy maps, playing without a tank would be pretty dumb. Me and my tank-whore squad mates would just mop up all these useless infantry running around with no defense against us
I'm finding it is quite a bit more difficult to really dominate the map. Like that is due to moving from 24 to 64 players on the console. Part of me wishes they had 24 player servers for the PS4.
Review of maps for Conquest:
- Siege of Shanghai - Some pretty good city combat. Good helicopter pilots can really be a bitch on this map, though. I've had lots of frustration dealing with guys who go 30-0 for a round in the chopper.
- Paracel Storm - Haven't played this a ton in conquest. I could see this being a lot more fun in a tight squad with voice comms.
- Operation Locker - Clusterfata. Wavered a bit on this between a solid Metro-style map, or just dumb. Lately thinking it is just dumb. Might be more interesting in a smaller 24 man game.
- Flood Zone - I think it is much more fun without the flooding. Hate not being able to get anywhere without going up on the rooftops.
- Golmud Railway - Very reminiscent of BF3. A great variety all around.
- Dawnbreaker - Have had some really good battles on this map. One where infantry can actually effectively evade the vehicles, making for some good firefights.
- Hainan Resort - A little boring in that most of the fighting is all about the hotel in the middle. Again, I think this could be more interesting with a smaller number of players, and a couple fewer points.
- Lancang Dam - Probably my early favourite map. Has a little of everything, and a bit of a unique layout.
- Rogue Transmission - Again has a good BF3 feel. Lots of tanks, me likey!
- Zavod 311 - Don't like how much of the fighting is all centered on the, well, center. Seems like a waste to have 64 players fighting over the middle two points, with little concern for the rest of the map.
Haven't tried the China Rising maps yet. Looking forward to the Second Assault maps coming to PS4...and a quick google doesn't give a date for that yet.

IMO the only good vanilla BF3 maps were Caspian Border and Operation Firestorm. The rest were not good battlefield maps.

What about the new patch on XBONE? I still crash out. Hard to justify premium content for a game that works just some of the time.
