For everything he is, you certainly couldn't call him insincere. And he really loves the fans.

No, I didn't mean to imply he was insincere. Just that he wants to be larger-than-life because that he thinks it will entertain people, and people like to be entertained.

That's the part that actually irks me. That and he seems like a me first dbag most of the time.
I can forgive Cornish when he acts like a dbag because it seems like it stems from him being a little hot headed, a little too honest and frequently being taken out of context for the purpose of sensationalizing an athlete's quotes.
Lewis on the other hand, his comments seem premiditated, while Cornish's comments seem to be in the heat of the moment.
To each his own I guess. I'll be honest I give Cornish a lot of props for standing up for himself too. He's not afraid to post over at Rider fans, even though regrettably but understandably they treat him like garbage, and stand up to the criticism. Lewis, to me, seems like a guy who doesn't take a lot of responsibility for his actions. And yes I'm aware Cornish has been accused of similar stuff but I think I've made it quite clear why I'm willing to let some stuff go from him which I've outlined in my last 2 posts.
Big picture though, I think some of Calgary's problems the last few years is that they have too many guys like Lewis and Cornish. Just too many guys who don't just tow the company line and spew boring cliches all the time. We all remember the TD celebrations that were more about the dance than the actual play, the outbursts of Lewis, Cornish, Anderson, Browner et al. For how much of a hard ass as Huff seems I've often wondered if he really has had control of the room the whole time he's been here. And I'm not sure if his predecessors were running a tight ship either.
Granted every team in the CFL has at least one or two of those guys but it seems like Calgary had too many and not just that but I think it often created a less than desireable team atmostphere. I don't think Henry being run out of town was just because of his play (although it certainly made the decision a lot easier given his performance last season).

I also think he feeds off of it and uses it to elevate his game come game-day. I think for him he just can't be one of those guys who quietly hands the ball to the ref and trotts off the field after a touchdown or back to the huddle after a big catch. He needs to get excited and annimated to be in the game at his best. As for off-the-field, I've met him a couple of times at Flames games and at Moose's after a game and he's actually quite approachable and welcoming towards fans.
As for Riderfans.com, they all secretly love the fact that a guy like Cornish actually reads and replies to their posts and it probably gives them a better impression of Cornish vs. Lewis. Also based on all the Lewis' gifs on that website that prominantely photo-shop in buckets of KFC, I think there's more going on there than objective reasoning towards Lewis' attitude.

Perhaps I missed something, did anyone reference riderfans attitude towards Lewis? I'm not sure what else you think is going on other than he plays for a rival. And maybe they secretly do like that Cornish posts there but it sure doesn't seem like it. FTR I don't post on riderfans or any other cfl forum. I only browse and most of the time it is for injury updates or to see what ztella posts.
I personally admitted that I like the fact he's accessible, be it on the riders or stamps forum, and I do give Cornish the benefit of the doubt because of it.
My hatred for Lewis is based solely on the way he acts on the field.

If he had played for the Riders this whole time I might like him. I'd still wish he was more if a team guy though. I hate it when he pouts after not getting the ball enough.

Cornish is acting how Lewis used to act. Like an ass. Except Lewis never showed his ass.
Copeland should have a talk with Cornish.

My issue with Cornish is that this is his first year as a starter. Yes he is extremely talented, but some of the stuff he's done this year (calling out the o-line; now this) just rubs me the wrong way.
Contrast that with Nik Lewis -- when you produce year in, year out for 8+ years, I think you're allowed to talk.
P.S. Looks like Glenn will start on Friday; I was kind of hoping to see Mitchell play (if anything, it would be a matchup of former EWU quarterbacks, assuming Nichols starts for the Esks).

Looks like Tate will be in as the third stringer this week.
https://twitter.com/SUNIanBusby
Stamps activate QB Drew Tate, KR Jason Armstead, DB Brandon Smith, DL Michael Stover and R Jabari Arthur for game vs. Eskimos #cfl
Stampeders put RB LaMarcus Coker on 9-game injured list with hamstring tear. Another weapon done for the season #cf
Also going off the Stampeders roster vs. Eskimos: R Price, QB Sinopoli, LB Deron Mayo and DL Demonte Bolden. Stover starts at DT #cfl

What do they do when Glenn and Tate are both healthy? I think it is Glenn's job to lose.

You don't pull Glenn in the middle of a playoff race unless he completely implodes

Anyone could have put up that kind of record with that Oline and Cornish. Glenn actually made it harder than it looked.

Glenn is the best chance for the stamps to win right now. Tate is unproven and has missed most of the season

Unproven Tate and even an unproven Mitchell is better than a proven Glenn.

Tate hasn't played. That's the problem, he is probably behind the speed of the game.

Basically if Tate is healthy enough to play, he plays. The reason they traded Burris is because they believe Tate is ready. This is his team. Win or lose.

The Stamps with Glenn are not a Grey Cup team.
With Tate we don't know what they are. I think his upside is worth the risk of upsetting any chemistry the team has developed.
Glenn was acquired to be a backup and I still believe that's the role that best suits him.
