Also, you greatly eggagerate the lease value of an anvhor. AAA space downtown goes for 20-30 sqft.

1. What are you talking about?
2. Downtown anchor? AAA space? What are you talking about? Office Space? The small tenants about 380,000 sq. ft, at Chinook Centre at October 2010 were paying an average of $90.00 a square foot. The anchors there will get a break, but not to $10-$20.00 a sq. ft. And if you somehow are talking office space, AAA space is about $37.00 a sq. ft.

I am just surprised they are still open/in business.
It is just heavily salted meat products. Why not go to a butcher if you want quality meat, or if you dont care pick up meat at the supermarket?

Because its cheap easy and great selection. Those places are a goldmine family friends own a couple locations. If I had cash I would put one of these up in a new community and would not look back

Just because its called "meat shop" doesn't mean people are just buying meat there. I don't think I've ever bought a steak or piece of meat there, but shop there every couple months for tasty microwavable meals.

In my way of thinking, if I spend many hundreds of dollars on a pair of shoes I want them for a while and paying to have them re-soled is cheaper than buying a new pair.
Haven't any of you ever gone to a shoe repair to have your hockey gloves re-palmed, or have a leather bag, briefcase repaired? Strange.
|
This is the thing. I dont have expensive shows, but I've had a show repair store repair anything leather, particularly my soccer shoes.
But I dont think I've ever spend more than $10 on a repair. I dont get how they make money.

When GM went through their restructuring after being declared 'too big to fail' they decided not to shutter the Buick division because it sells well in China. Also, the Buick Regal (actually an Opel Insignia with Buick badging) is, by all reports, an absolutely fantastic car.

I know some women who bring in five or six pairs of shoes at a time to be repaired. Then they tell their friends... etc.
I dunno. I guess it must be profitable for them somehow.

I remember seeing a lot of tv reports saying shoe repair businesses were making a killing during the recession. Made sense.

Anybody ever work at one of those carts they have in the mall that sell everything from howling wolf sweatshirts to hair weaves? Do those things make any money? Every time I see one, I'm worried the teenager working at it is in extreme danger of falling asleep and tumbling off their stool.

I assume 90% of their sales come from Xmas shopping.

I would choose Mr. Sub over Subway each and everytime.
