If Tkachuk is willing to sign with Nashville then they are our best bet. They don’t have state income tax so Tkachuk (funny he picked teams that all don’t have state income tax) probably would sign there for less AAV. We could trade with them and not take an anchor contract.
They just signed Lauzon so not sure if they trade him but I’d love
Lauzon Tolvanen Kemell and first
For
Tkachuk
I’d leave out Lauzon just thinking they might need some salary going back

We don't even know where he is fine going to. The list has been debunked a few times.

Yes Barzal had 85 points in his first year, but has he gotten close to that since?

Thornton had 60 points in his 20 year old year, Tomasino had 32 points in his 20 year old year.

Like I said, two different players, two different paths. Doesn't discount the fact that Tomasino has star potential.

Hailey Salvain’s take on deal with the Preds:
Quote:
Could Poile pull it off? He’d have to send out some cap to extend Tkachuk. Colton Sissons would make sense; he’s a solid player who makes nearly $3 million annually for the next four seasons. Including him in a Tkachuk deal would get Nashville within shouting distance and work for the Flames – Sissons has years of team control on top of his solid production. He’d work as a complementary piece in a package led by 2019 first-rounder Philip Tomasino, who had 32 points as a 20-year-old rookie last season and is still on his entry-level deal. Beyond him, Wheeler ranks Nashville’s prospect pool in the top half of the league, which the Flames could reasonably choose from.
|
Tomasino + Sissons + prospect (L’Heureux?)

Not sure why the Flames would be interested in Colton Sissons, he is a 3rd liner type of a player.
I would think, Flames have to find a top 6 winger at the very least.

I’d take Scissons but we need more back
I’d love 2 or 3 of Glass Tomasino Tolvanen or Kemel and a first in the deal
But if we make a deal like this in a year we could be loaded with youth adding a very good prospect with our pick and likely a bunch more quality picks and millions in cap space
Scissons is tradeable as well so not sure why he’s a deal blocker

Shouting distance of making the cap work for the Preds. That’s going to be a huge consideration in any deal. It’s why a STL deal will be difficult to orchestrate, and a DAL deal probably isn’t even plausible.

Barf.
30pt tweener and unproven NHLr
Cap dump bottom 6 bleh player
Unknown low end prospect
Yea no… that doesn’t even get the phone ringing.
Any deal that doesn’t include an unprotected first is a no go.

Before he graduated last season, Tomasino was a top 30 NHL prospect. The guy you haven’t heard of is the second best prospect on a team with the 12th ranked group of prospects in the league (Calgary’s prospects are ranked 16th, and Pelletier is the second best prospect on thr team). And it’s unlikely any of the rumoured teams will be offering an unprotected 1st.
I’m not saying it’s great deal. But it’s the kind of deal fans spinning Lindros-esque fantasies might want to prepare themselves for.

WTH - That Sisson's package wouldn't even work in NHL21.

How about a one for one trade with Carolina for svechnikov? He is signed for 7.75M for 7 more years and doesn’t have any kind of no move in his contract.(so he can’t escape)

"1st Round 2023 Pick Unprotected + Pick of any 3 X assets"
X=ELC or Bridged Players under 25
X=Blue Chips
X=Draft Capital
X=Roster Players with Term or Team Control
Teams Circling include NYR, NYI, NJD, DALLAS, NASHVILLE, STL , ARIZONA , FLORIDA, CAROLINA.
Believe Carolina is more interested in seeing what happens with Markstrom.

Gotta be roster players with team control in the deal we gotta start proposing on the first date.

Eichel had the injury scare. But he plays the more important position and Tkachuk’s contract situation complicates matters. Call it a saw-off.
Remember the packages for Eichel people were batting around? Most proved way out of line with the actual return. Expect the same here.
|
Yes, Eichel plays the more important position. But Tkachuk has substantially better intangibles - there are only a few guys in the league who can stir it up the way Tkachuk does. He is highly coveted around the league.

I feel like a lot of people are forgetting Eichel came with significant risk with his neck injury...

My personal thoughts on what to expect back from a trade depends on who we’re dealing with.
Team with high chance of a top 7 pick: 1st rounder, 2nd liner/ borderline first line young player, 2nd rounder 2024
Team with likely chance of pick 8-16: 1st rounder, 2 second rounders, 2nd liner/ borderline first line young player
Team with likely chance to pick 17-25: 2 1st rounders, 2 second rounders
Team with likely chance to pick 26-32: 2 1st rounders, 2 second rounders, 3rd rounder, mid prospect
