If that smug bastard Rich Winter knew about this Tkachuk ask prior to his Mangiapane grandstanding, even more good on him. Our management group looks like a troop of clowns today.

I'm watching Nashville here. They have all sorts of talent the Flames could snag.

Winter should try to squeeze the extra 500K “stay in Calgary” fee out of management if they want a longterm deal.

Lifetime Suspension

If management doesn't learn to be proactive from this, they never will.
Need to be asking the tough questions wayyy ahead of crucial dates like this to allow for preparation for all outcomes. P###footing around and hanging on to maybes isn't the way to manage a club.
Treliving gave way too much leniency to Gaudreau to go about the negotiations how he wished and in his own timeline and it screwed them
Needed the answer during exit interviews.

You can't seriously think that either of these players is a worthy centrepiece in a tkachuk trade?

Tomasino, Glass and a pick? Glass has struggled from injury but he's an extremely skilled playmaker.

Guys chill the #### out here. Glass has very little value, Tomasino + a pick is not even close to worth Tkachuk.
Not to mention we need salary to come back with Nash.
Jeepers though if that's all we get, all of management should be placed in stockades in Olympic square for public shaming.

Glass went to Nashville from Vegas in the 3 way trade

If that's the return I'd rather they just sign him to the one year deal and trade him at the deadline

Traded to Nashville, from VGK. Patrick was acquired by Nsh in the Ellis trade, then promptly flipped to VGK for glass.
So that trade proposed is valid, but would be horrible value for Matt Tkachuk.

I would pass on a bust, a guy who got 32 points in his rookie year and a pick myself.
If we are only getting that take Nolan Patrick, Zachary Dean, Reilly Smith for cap purposes and a pick from Vegas and at least block the Oilers run.

It's called spitballing dude. It's not me who needs to chill.
Anywho. Perhaps maybe also this is the rumor tied to Forsberg landing in CGY AFTER he signed his new deal as well. Something to ponder.

Hard to imagine Tkachuk playing another game in a Flames jersey after this soap opera.

Sorry, you guys quoted me before I could delete my post about Glass, lol
Glass is a 6'3" center who scored 62 points in 66 AHL games. He has size, skill, and a 200-ft game. He still has value.
Tomasino is a star in waiting. People love Barzal? This kid is a C with excellent offensive instincts, and has blazing speed.

Glass had 8 games in the show last year and had an assist.
Tomasino had 32 points as a 20 year old in the show. When Barzal was 20 years old he put up 85 points in the NHL and won the Calder Trophy. I think Tomasino will have to do a little more before he is in a conversation with a guy like Barzal.

Oh please, two different players, two different sets of circumstances, two different paths, two different rates of development. Joe Thornton had 7 points in 55 games in his first year, followed by 41, then 60-was he better than Barzal?
Yes Barzal had 85 points in his first year, but has he gotten close to that since?
