Yeah, pretty clearly for kids I would think. That's cool.
I'm all for that. If you want to sell SW to kids, then make content for kids. Don't jam kid friendly stuff where it doesn't belong. SW has always been making kids only content. They had those Ewok movies, back in 1984. Not everything has to be Andor, filled with commentary on the bureaucratic system.
Where SW gets crappy is when it tries to appeal to too broad of an audience and gets totally watered down.

To be fair the OT served as a fine gateway for millions of 5-10 year olds.
Severed arms & charred corpses and all.
That's part of what set it apart. It wasn't your standard Disney fare. That's what your Disney collection was for. It was edgy to like star wars at that age.

I obviously came along much later than the OT but I remember after watching ANH I would always grumble something at my parents...
"I could always give you the Beru treatment..."

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Boooo. I was more into The Acolyte than Ashoka, Obi-Wan, or Baba Fett.
I wonder how much the purported $180 Million budget factored in? I'm not sure how that compares other Star Wars shows, but seemed like a hell of a lot of money for what we got

Hopefully Disney can focus on telling quality stories that are worth telling going forward (and that’s a criticism of Obi Wan and Boba Fett as well - which were also terrible)
And I'm guessing there's some SW fatigue. Plus they're doing S2 of Andor as well. With Mando, Ahsoka and Andor requiring a good chunk of change to make it makes sense to pare down a bit especially with a new trilogy on the way too.

I will give credit, the fight choreography was top notch. Qimar was really good. I think the problem was that the rest of the cast was just so flat, and the story wasn't all that interesting.
Right now Disney is facing a lot of criticism for the Star Wars universe. Outside of the Mandalorian, and even that suffered in the last season, the shows haven't jumped out, and the ST was awful.
I mean, I'm the biggest Star Wars nerd out there, but I haven't bought a new Star Wars book since I finished the Aftermath series, and I'm probably not that interested in Skeleton Crew.

It's the same problem with Marvel and a few other things. Stuff just becomes oversaturated and uninteresting. We all love hockey and the Flames. But if they had a 24hr Flames channel and a some new Flames TV show every 3-4 months, even the hardest fans would stop tuning in. And then before you know it you forget that it's actually all centred on the game.
Part of what's special about something is anticipation, surprise, even completely forgetting it was a thing before BAM remember this?! F*** YEA! That's how I felt when I saw Finn sit up in a Stormtrooper outfit in the desert for the first time. "Oh s***! There's more Star Wars?!" And everyone got pumped. Quality of that series aside, I was stoked to see them.
And then they just want to churn out as much as possible as fast as possible forgetting that people DO recognize quality, even people who aren't that critical. And geeks can only convince their friends that so many things are good. I remember having to convince my friends that Ironman was awesome. They all thought it looked lame and I was like "no we're going". Then our generation became the Marvel fans.
But now, endless Marvel shows, endless Star Wars shows, endless everything people start to tune out. You need to take something away for a while. Not like a few months. Like years. I really wish Marvel had just dropped everything for 5+ years after Endgame. I really wish they had the sack to keep RDJ in the Doom mask for 3 full movies before revealing it was him. I really wish Lucasfilm had the guts to turn their heroes into villains and create an actual compelling story within the films so that people outside of big nerds would be interested in watching the shows. But there's just no risk taking and so there's no payoff.
Ahsoka sucked, but it was far better then Acolyte.
Oh yeah. But in the end they both sucked.
They need to combine Acolyte with Ahsoka and have like an all Girl 'Birds of Prey' Jedi series.
If you're gonna do it, dont half-ass it! Go all in!!
You can cram all those girl Mandalorians in there, get Sabine to learn the ways of the Mandalorian Jedi! She can fight that other broody woman who thinks she should be Queen or whatever and then they can become friends and go on adventures across the Galaxy!!
I cant write it all up if they want.

It still goes back to casting with Ahsoka. RD is a good actress, but she just isn't a fit as Ashoka.
On top of that she just can't physically carry the role.
I was of the point that they never ever should have done Ahsoka as a live action series, they should have kept it animated.
The only thing about that series besides RS that I enjoyed was the Hayden cameo.
Ahsoka definitely came off like she'd rather be grabbing a latte and hitting a yoga class than being a Jedi warrior.
She actually has a pretty good repetoir of sci-fi/action type stuff, including a lot of voice work. Her performance in Ahsoka definitely came across as uninterested at points. It could have been a poor artistic choice too. Maybe she was channeling Mace Windu too much and ended up with a forced and flat delivery.
