I wish Americans knew just how much their economy wouldn't work without illegals working in restaurants and for food producers.

The companies that abuse the H-1B visas to replace staff, like Disney did with their IT, should definitely be gone after. But most of these jobs are awful and no American born citizen is clamouring to get them

That's reasonable and makes sense but as a rebuttal let me say DEY TERK ER JERBS!

As you can see it's a nuanced and multifaceted argument.

It's funny how people pick and chose what they want to believe though. Even after all the anti-Muslim statements, he still received support from the Nation of Islam which applauded him for standing up to Jews. Nationalists tend to stick together on many issues even when they dislike each other.

Also, not to get into semantics, but some "African-Americans" even disagree what the term means. To some, it means direct descendants of West African slaves brought to America (many of whom are actually mixed race), and for some it means any American of African descent. The distinction is often made in poorer areas where more recent African immigrants have fared really well compared to old-stock African Americans due to lingering effects of historical injustices. Divisions are more about class than skin colour.

But that's ok! As soon as the illegal Mexicans leave, all these great low paying jobs will be left for all the legal African Americans who will swoop in and take the crappy jobs back!

So remember last week when Ben Carson didn't want a cabinet position because he didn't have any government experience? Apparently about to be named HUD director. Looking forward to the Washington Monument being turned into a grain tower.

If you're black and voted for Trump its shameful. And his stance on immigration isn't going to do anything for them. As we can all already see he lied to the people and most of what he said was a lie. The few people who will have more jobs and money at the end of his presidency will be Donald Trump and friends.

And I'm in Canada so very hard to say it to anyone's face that voted for Trump.
So those two off-hand comments are enough for you to label the ~20% of blacks that voted for him as race traitors? By your logic I should go around shaming every Albertan that voted for the Liberals since Trudeau said some dumb stuff about us.

Also my point is you would never actually say it to anyone's face even given the opportunity because it's an insulting, s####y thing to say.

It's much more than two off hand comments. Have you been following the election? And I never called them race traitors don't put words into my mouth. I said its shameful if anyone voted for Trump and especially if you're a monitory or a woman.

And I would say it to someone's face because obviously they didn't care when Trump said and did all these nasty things to them so why would they care if I did?

Yesterday people get a little bit of hope when Trump says there might be some man made component to climate change.

Today Trump wants to defund NASA's earth science division, because he wants to crack down on "politicized science". Uh, if you want to crack down on science becoming politicized, then crack down on the politicization, not the science.

"Mr Trump’s decisions will be based upon solid science, not politicized science."

Bob Walker, Trump's advisor 'claimed that doubt over the role of human activity in climate change “is a view shared by half the climatologists in the world. We need good science to tell us what the reality is and science could do that if politicians didn’t interfere with it.”'

You're ashamed of people not voting for what the majority perceives as the most beneficial candidate for their group, purely on the basis on their membership in that group. That's essentially calling those people a race traitor. You're basically pissed that 30 million blacks didn't vote as one monolithic block just because of the color of their skin, while not accounting for any other factors. Can you not see how messed up that is?

I love Hitchens, and I'm not Christian, and not socially right-leaning. Appeal to authority doesn't really hold water here. It's not a discussion or a debate, it's what happened. Feel free to make the case that humanism was forced to evolve since rise and fall of Hitler (or that nazism distorted the intent), but it doesn't change history.

Nobody wants to be associated with nazis. But that doesn't mean they have a problem with slagging the SPL for calling attention to white nationalism and extremism as a problem, as we've just seen.

EDIT: That, or he didn't even look at the point of the post or the link itself and just had to add something negative about the SPL because... because?

If they were green and Trump didn't rent to greens and didn't want greens counting his money why should a green vote for him? He obviously thinks lower of greens so yes its shameful. Can't you see how messed up that is? Let's assume you're white and living in America during the Obama election and it came out that Obama was a racist and didn't let whites rent from him and was racist towards white people, you would vote for him?

And as much as you like to deny, being black does put you in a group as soon as people in power put you in a group and don't treat you fairly and are racist towards you. So yes if I'm black and I'm feeling unfairly treated then yes I would definitely not vote for that person who is racist no matter how many jobs he promises me.

It's all about the green.

Used to work for a company they had main operations in the states.it was a 3pl company doing warehouse operations for kroger Walmart and safeway
90 percent of the workforce was employed under visas.if you missed a day due to illness or injury you were fired and the visa would be torn up.couple documentaries on vice that show how greasy it gets on that country and how employment laws can be worked around.

I saw a program on TV about Alabama getting rid of all of the illegals, just like all of the Conservatives want to do, and the effect it had on the agriculture industry.
First the farms couldn't hire anyone that would do that work for the money.
Next the state was going to try to make prison workers fill the jobs, and they got out into the fields and stood around, they weren't going to do physical labor, like POW's or a Gulag.
All of the crops rotted in the fields.
Alabama rescinded their decision on illegals, who came back and picked the crops and lived fairly crime free uneventful lives.

Trump is not that smart. Every time I read his tweets and non scripted speeches etc. I feel embarrassed for America. It's like having a friend with an extremely dumb, drunk wife or something.
