There was some other ones. They were like 8 feet tall and super creepy. Like $300 for one or so. I forgot where I found them, but they were SO cool.

I'm really hating on my physics prof right now... We have "assignments" that count towards our marks... These assignments have questions that are BEYOND what we have learned...
These problems that I did made sense to me but the answer didn't. Especially the one that had a mass on a string and you spin it around, they don't give you a mass, they just ask what speed was needed to make a full vertical circle? if it's not mg = m(v^2)/r, therefore v= (rg)^(1/2), tell me what it is.
I'm doing fine in the in class tests as well as the labs but these online assignment just frustrate the hell out of me.

Just throw in some numbers? Then work backwards from there? It's been 4 years since I was in Physics.

If the mass is not given, it likely cancels out. I think in what you just gave, the mass cancelled out so you don't need it.

I think you're right Phanuthier. The mass shouldn't matter as it is directly affected by the force of gravity (g). They should just go hand in hand, and you can go from there. Plug in numbers and try that. It's how I passed more than one test.

That's exactly what I thought, because mass wasn't given but they do cancel out... plugged in the numbers yet I still got the answer wrong.
I'll take it up with the prof later

Are you sure you have your velocity vectors correct? Normal velocity vs tangent velocity, or the combination of both?
(edit: never mind, there should be no tangent component)
Check your units? Is it metric?

I'm still a little annoyed from a wakeup call this morning.
call : "Hello, this is MBNA Canada. Is this <name>?"
me : "um yes"
call : "we noticed you have an outstanding payment due for 2 months"
me : "really? how much?"
call : "$6"
me : "oh. crap. sorry i'll get that taken care of"
call : "when will you be doing it?"
me : "today"
call : "are you sure?"
me : "um yes" (I am getting annoyed at this point)
call : "we noticed this is the first time you've had a late payment with us in 7 years, whats the reason?"
me : (i am really getting annoyed at this point, i give them my reason)
call : "so you will be taking care of this today?"
me : (on the verge of telling the guy off and telling him to close the account after i pay up) "yes, today"
call : "ok sir, have a good" and i end the call
My dad did get made up for it... the girl I mentioned earlier that I met at the rock climbing gym and she gave me her number, but said she would be gone for a month travelling and would call me when she came back, I finally texted her (after contemplating whether I should or not for a month, this is now 2 months since she gave me her number) and she said she's glad I texted her and she had lost her phone and all the numbers on it, and is interested in getting together. Did I mention girls who climb are hot?

checked all my units Everything I put in was in m and m/s^2, which after, the square root, it should come out to m/s

i have a meeting to prepare for...
but also, i quit drinking coffee just for fun. i was doing 3 cups a day, which is not a lot, but i like to try to stop things when i get into the habit of them. I don't like to get reliant on things.
When the coffee machine here breaks, i swear some people might start lobbing heads off. I really don't want to be that dependent on coffee. I'm gonna go a month without at least.

Yeah, I've worked in office environments for quite a while now and the Coffee machine is like the office Ark of the Covenant. We've had work days where we dont have all the supplies or information we need and it takes a while to get it, but if that coffee machine goes down there will be a new one in place and purring within 10 minutes.

I'm supposed to drive up to Ucluelet tonight, but it's pouring rain and I'm not leaving Victoria until 5 PM. I'm wondering if I should call it off. I've never done it, but apparently the drive from Port Alberni to Ucluelet is wretched in the best of conditions, let alone in the dark and the rain. That being said, I've already paid for my hotel, so I'll probably just tough it out.

Should I update to Windows 7 for $120? Seems like a good deal to get rid of the devil called Vista....
