The USPS has the power to take people into custody? They have more power than I thought! I guess those little postal vehicles double as mini paddy wagons?

It's in the constitution. Messing with the mail is a big dill.

Screwing with old timey sounding things can actually bring a modern society trouble a lot faster than you think.
Major disruptions to mail and rail services aren’t easily overcome.
According to DHS officials, Trump wanted the US to pursue trading Puerto Rico for Greenland
Quote:
Miles Taylor, a former Department of Homeland Security chief of staff who was recently featured in a political ad from Republican Voters Against Trump, told MSNBC on Wednesday that President Donald Trump asked him and other officials whether the U.S. could swap Greenland for Puerto Rico because, in Trump's words, "Puerto Rico was dirty and the people were poor."
The exchange happened in August 2018 before DHS officials went on a disaster recovery trip to Puerto Rico, which had been devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017, Taylor said.
"I did not take it as a joke," Taylor said. "The president expressed deep animus towards the Puerto Rican people behind the scenes. These are people who are recovering from the worst disaster we've seen in our lifetimes, and he is their president. He should be standing by them, not trying to sell them off to a foreign country."
I know Puerto Rico was looking for statehood a while ago, but the Republicans will do anything to stop that. Is secession a realistic option for them? We should give them an offer to join confederation if it is.

Since we're doing land grabs; perfect time to bring up the union of Turks & Caicos with Canada again. Wasn't there like 99% support for that back in the day?

I think the political process in Canada would be a can of worms, but there was 60% support in T&C at one point. Not sure if it is still there.
Nova Scotia invited them to join their province as a possible way to avoid the federal process though. Not sure how that idea was perceived.

Man oh man, how many former or current Obama associates are convicted or suspected felons? When does common sense just force people to see that this quacking president walks like a duck?
