Tbh, I just don't let sports affect my life as much anymore. Like yeah, the Oilers winning the cup would suck, but life goes on. It is what it is. The older Flames fans had to live through the 80's Oilers dynasty and I'm sure that sucked until 89 happened. If they can survive that I can survive a modern day Oilers cup win

Not going to happen in my family. My 12 year old hates the oilers as much as I do and made a shirt last game that said oilers suck. For jersey day at school yesterday my 10 year old wore a t-shirt he made that said go dallas, go flames and oilers=bad. Just to spite all the kids in his class wearing jerseys and his oilers/vancouver fan teacher.

Agree for sure man. Unfortunately, unlike the fans of the other teams, it’s much harder for us to take given how closely we’ve watched that joke of a team mismanage all the gifts they’ve been given, add pond scum degenerates to their roster, and then whine and dive at every opportunity, all with the support of a delusional fellating media that makes them out to be the greatest thing pro sports has ever seen.

Yeh those were tough years but the Flames were always competitive with them even in their dynasty. This may be the first timeline where they were at the top of the Mountain while we are down in the ditch.

It sucks for me because I live in Northern Alberta in what is known around here as Oil Country. I enjoy the heckling of greaser fans. I run my mouth and talk a lot of ****, to be honest.

When these dbags do well, I take an awful lot of **** back. And I'm of the belief that if you're going to dish it out, you have to take it. And I've been taking it. Hard.

I have to be in dumpsterville next weekend for a lacrosse tournament. At least in Calgary I can just avoid media and ignore the casual bandwagon-ers. If the no-goods are still around next weekend being in that s***hole is going to be extra unbearable.
