The president always wears bullet proof vests that look like his suits when in public. No proof to back this up...but I did read this somewhere.

Reagan was wearing one when he was shot...I think. He had his arm in the air waving so the bullet got through.

Just an observation and I don't want to start an argument, but two or three times during the coverage today some commentator or other has talked about the "bloodless transition of power" and "peaceful transfer of power" or some such thing, and then followed it with "and this is what makes our country unique" or "only America does this".

Not a big deal, but kind of annoying.

I don't see how it's unclassy, it's just a joke. Taking it pretty personal there.

Now admittingly I've read I think the last page of this thread, but I took it as a joke. I'm sure a joke of some sort would have also been made whoever was standing there and whoever was leaving. Perhaps even the same one.
