I get it but I'm not sure how many legit scouts would call a 20 year old a bust while prasing a 26 year old that will almost certainly be less of an NHLer when all is said and done. Home run seems unlikely but Honzek will probably equal or exceed the expected NHL games played for a player drafted in his spot.

Honzek is a 2004. He turns 21 in Novemeber. This is his D+3 season. Some criticism is merited.


We should know after endless Jankowski debate, where a player is drafted or how they are acquired factors deeply into our perception of them.

With 6 more pre season games, I think the Flames can treat the next two as close to being rookie camps as possible. Most players will have a second chance to prove something. Boy I hope they do. Suniev is the only guy who looks like he wants it.

Thanks for everyone's comments on the game and play. Unfortunately living outside the geo restricted zone, I was not able to see anything until highlights posted on and the videos put on here. For the life of me I cannot figure out why the NHL wouldn't want to allow all teams to broadcast with no restrictions through the preseason. What a way to grow the game to those who are not yet NHL fans, instead they miss out on this every year. Absolutely blows my mind. There literally is nothing to protect from a dollars perspective or broadcasting wise that would jeopardize anything with their existing partnerships. A new fan creates a new opportunity for more dollars down the road. As usual, they never ever consult me for my opinion - LOL.
