Listening to the press conference and the crazy amount of back and forth to try and continue to play these games is insane. It's wild how how much discussion occurred with league, player, airline and team officials. It seems about as easy as can be, if you have multiple people who have tested positive, those same people are going to be maskless for large periods of time on a plane, sharing close quarters together, are literally face to face with each other and more. There are going to be more positive cases.

It's almost like they can't make a decision with these things until they are forced to by factors the sports leagues don't have controls over, like border policies. Reports are that the Flames were on the tarmac for hours waiting to fly to Chicago and only when it became clear that a bunch of additional positive cases were likely, and the fact that those players would be than forced to quarantine in the US , did they make the call to cancel games.

Perplexing to me and I get it's a business but with decision making like this continuing, things are going to unravel very quickly with Omicron spreading so fast and making vaccines significantly less effective from a symptomatic disease perspective.
