What’s impressive is that their prospects are from the top teams, not Switzerland, Slovakia and the like.

I like personality in sport, but this Russian tendency towards individualism and hot dogging celebrations rub me the wrong way.

Bunch of angles of the hit that got Hoglander ejected. Looks kind of borderline to me, but it's hard to tell.

This is easily the sloppiest game of the tournament.

Yeah it really looks like the kids are feeling the pressure and getting nervous.

That being said, the Swedes have evened it up when it looked like they might get buried.

Should be a good finish.

Has there been any 5 on 5 play? All I have seen are penalties, mostly called on the Swedes. And there is another one.

Crazy. Swedn 14 times short handed in all the previous games. 7 so far through 2 periods.

So almost a full period on the PK in just 40 minutes? That seems right. Ha. Ha. And then add the Russian penalties to that. Wow! IHHF game management?

Russia finally pulled their tap dancing goalie. I haven’t seen that much foot movement since I took my kids to see Happy Feet.

Game management is an nhl thing I think. These refs are just calling everything they see and it turns out they're blind

Good old over coached possession based hockey has neutered a lot of entertainment in OT. Same going on here.

EDIT - though the last 2 minutes were fun!

52-0 in the last 13 years during round play.

1 gold medal.

Unbelievable.

Cant make a change 3 on 3 without the puck.

Swedes just don't have that extra gear.

Glad Russia won it after that OT. A team that spends two minutes of 3-3 cycling in the neutral zone deserves to lose.

They only have 2 Gold Medals total in the history of the tournament. That just doesn't seem real.

Swedes are too team oriented and dont have that special individual quality needed for big games. It's the same in the adult worlds in the spring.

Big games in any sport are won on special moments. The Russian tying and winning goal today the Swedes cant score that type of goal.

Dream start. 2-0.

Finland calls timeout 3 minutes into the game.
