Yeah this team is capable of being at the top of the Pacific right now. But it's not happening fans don't like it. Especially the season ticket holders like myself. I have the right to vent!####

Monahan is very similar to Oli Jokinen, seemingly high scoring center but if you look closer you can see he does nothing else and lacks crucial first line center skills.
You were quickly proven wrong about Monahan doing nothing in the playoffs last year so now you have pivoted to the equally ridiculous argument that he only scores the occasional power play goal.

Monahan is a top 20 centre in the league at only 23. Sure his defensive play and playmaking has room for improvement but his "one dimension" is the most important skill in hockey. You can't teach goal scoring and Monahan is a natural, especially when the game is on the line.

I'll take my chances that Monahan keeps improving and can be a cup winning #1C over the option of trading him and starting over with another long rebuild.

Sure, I feel your pain, I get up at three in the morning on the other side of the globe to watch this team crap the bed, that's not great either, but I'm just saying that it would be somewhat nice to not having to wade through mud in the PGT after the team played a solid game that ended with a big win.

This times 10000, some people just seem to live on negativity and are never happy even when the team win.

i ignore that bold statement who was proven what. I'm hearing this argument he's just 23 and therefore his performance should only improve pretty often. Well here is decent analysis what age players peak points wise. not perfect but at least gets you an insight on the average curve.

Pretty decent comparison. And I pretty much agree. This team is not winning a cup with Monahan at 1C. I see us more as the St. Louis Blues or Minnesota Wild 2.0 as opposed to the Pens, Blackhawks or Kings. Sucks our rebuild couldn’t land a McDavid, Eichel or Matthews.

This is the worst troll job I have seen in a long time. In a very tight checking series Monahan scored in every game. I would take that playoff performance from my number 1C anytime. Enjoy the win. It may be the start of a good run, the last glimmer of hope or just another step in the dog fight between now and the end of the season. This plus minus one or two additions or subtractions is what we have for the rest of the season. We all have our preferences of what those changes are, but to rip into the type of center that we wanted for the entire Iginla era likely reflects on your understanding of how difficult those pieces are to come by.

Good win, and a good display of fortitude to comeback. Monahan is a beaut!

Its truely dissapointing how toxic the CP boards have become. Sure they have many excellent posters but they have all taken a back seat to the drivel we see night in night out.

Flames played a strong game and had many chances. Great play by glass keeps them in this and the score flaters them.

Now do it again next game.

Probably would need it for both Snow and Tavares, but works like a charm.

With the exception of Edmonton and Arizona every team in the West is capable of being top of their division, that is how close todays hockey with a salary cap is. Not every team can be there though, be damn thankful you have a competitive team to cheer for.
