Nice with a 9 pm game Swedish time. Jets are a fast team!

They are not only playing well this game, they were also 2 of the top 3 stars of last week. Are Jets fans so thin-skinned that they can't even deal with praise that's rightfully deserved?

The announcers are definitely not "slobbering over" the Flames. They didn't even mention Monahan once.

To be fair though, the Flames didn't have much offensive zone time or great plays to get excited over. They played great defensively I thought. But announcers are going to get excited over great chances.

I did think the overemphasis on Smith handling the puck was a bit much.

This is the most homerific post I've seen in awhile? 2 minutes for shoving? The Jet initiated the contact with Tkachuk, not the other way around. It's a weak sauce goalie interference call, and Hellebuck didn't even try to get back into position, and he wasn't upset about being "interfered" with.

It's not the worst call I've ever seen, but it's soft. The 2 minutes penalty for shoving is just hilarious though.

That was a textbook example of officials managing a game with expected results. The Flames were perfectly set and playing within their game, with a few hiccups and some sloppy hockey due to 5 days off.

Tkachuk is in a battle towards the Jets net. If anything, the defender did his job perfectly by keeping Tkachuk away from the crease and essentially out of the play...Tkachuk doesn't make a pushing motion, doesn't fall on top of him, just continues regular momentum towards the net. In the process, defender falls and grazes his own goaltender while tied up.

Call? Goaltender interference. Momentum and play completely changes after that call. Jets are on the verge of tying it, instead of being down 2 in a rough period.

The officiating in this league needs a serious review. I won't speculate corruption or favoritism, but the consistency and ability to abide by rules as they are written are in major question.

Whether it's the Flames or any other team, it completely ruins the viewing experience and entertainment value, and it is heavily impacting the credibility of the league and game.

At least 5 bad/missed blatant calls that period.

Brouwer got hooked pretty obviously right before the Brodie goal too.

If that was goalie interference, there will never be another goal mouth scramble goal again.

Marginal contact, from the defenseman, who was battling for position, then the goalie still had plenty of time to recover.

It was Hellebuyck's own fault that he was that far out of position.

Hockey day in Canada. I agree though, not sure why they didn't give an Eastern team the early game...

Both fan bases freaking out over biased play by play?

Simply means he isnt favoring one team or the other, which is true.

"Managing the game"

Penalties were 1 to 1 that period, despite the fact the Jets committed 3-5 clear infractions. The 1 to 1 on penalties equates a "well reffed game" in the refs mind.

Idiocy.

Have they mentioned the officiating between periods? The first was one of the worst officiating periods I’ve seen this year.
