He's trying to attach an emotional burden to his complaint based on the notion that his patronage carries more weight with the NHL because of the reverence sometimes held for members of the armed forces.

The padding is on the top to prevent cuts and some abrasion however it does absolutely nothing to reduce compression of the fingers from a slash. I am going to assume the pressure of the slash broke his finger by compression.

Surprising comment, especially given the injury. I suppose this explains why the players don't push back more when Johnny takes slashes...to them, it's part of the game and it goes both ways.

This kind of stuff never happened In the past with the Mullens or Loobs or Fleurys
I wonder how the past 2 years this @#$/ became acceptable.
How big a wad is Burke gonna blow as a result of this? ?

Here is the response you need if the refs aren't going to call the penalty, retaliation penalty be damned:

You can have the best PP in the league, but it doesn't matter if the refs don't call the penalties.
I'm wondering, though, does this injury to JG buy Gulutzan more time behind the bench?

He probably got whacked on the palm side which has zero protection. It doesn't happen often, but occasionally you'll get a stinger there when everything lines up just right.
This happens most often when guys try to block shots and let their hands hang palms facing the shot.

So Gaudreau is out for 6 weeks?
Anyone interested in buying my remaining games? $25 each for aisle seats in PL Row 10?
Anybody?

21 slashes.
How do the referees miss that?
Much like the actual intent, it must be systemic. I have no doubt that the Wild plan was slash Gaudreau at ever opportunity. I also have no doubt that the referees did not miss 21 slashes. Which means that it is systemic as well.
Occam's Razor says that the most simple explanation is the right one. Refs ignoring all but the most blatant penalties on Gaudreau/Flames.
Now compare that to the laughable call against McDavid on the breakaway in game 1.
I guess Johnny on LTIR helps our cap.

The Department of player safety does... that's who you should direct a Jihad at if anyone. Along with the officials who let it happen without repercussion.

4-6 most likely. When Backlund had his finger broken that was the time frame given and I doubt there have been radical advances in finger surgery recovery time since.

Powerplay Quarterback

Maybe this is the type of thing that happens to soft teams with terrible power plays. You can put this on the list of flaws in the way the team is put together.
It seems like we are expecting teams to just leave Gaudreau alone because............ ya know, Johnny Hockey.

Time to sign Trevor Gillies. No one slashes our players without losing their chicklets.
