Just a couple things to add that I don't believe have been mentioned yet.
1. Thought Bergeron was getting away with anything he did. Reminds me of Perry. These guys just get free passes to do what they want.
2. I was so mad at Hartley when I saw him puy put Raymond-Backlund-Hudler out there. Game over. 3 of our most under performing FW's all on one line and it seemed to work. Cant believe nobody has mentioned this yet
I haven't seen anyone mention Hartley yet, so I feel it's appropriate to call out that he deserves some of the praise for last night. The way he utilized his timeout in OT, the way he had to wait to get Gaudreau out in OT because Boston carried the majority of the play, someone broke their stick and Gaudreau jumped on to race over to back check and when the played stopped, even though he had just gone out, Hartley pulled him back off the ice and waited for the right moment to send him over the boards, only to then send him out twice in in the span of a minute... Those 30 second shifts keep the guys fresh enough to be able to do it.
It was great coaching that helped set things up to play out the way they did.
I've noticed he never starts Gaudreau in OT, despite the fact he's clearly the best on the team at that format. I figure he wants Monahan and Gio out against whoever the other team thinks is their best player, they inevitably don't do well, and then Johnny gets out against their second line. It's worked well.

Of course he doesn't start Gaudreau in OT.
Hartley likes the 1f 2d in OT. He can't put Gaudreau out there to take a faceoff.

Also, I'm not sure how Johnny is in face offs. Bob is clearly trying to win the face offs and get control before JG goes out there.

I suppose, but it's only a centre ice faceoff. Actually, I bet Johnny could win a faceoff on hand speed alone.
Still, I like the strategy faceoff or not. Not complaining or anything. It makes the opposition play their best offence against the best combination of two-way players on the team. They spend 45 seconds getting nothing done, then it's Johnny time.
Wow, unbelievable high after last night! I haven't posted much this year because its been pretty damn depressing. I feel like last nights game will be the turning point this year.
LOL at the highlight package on NHL.com. It has to be the longest highlight video I have ever seen on there.

Quite true. Although he could win the FO and then get Johnny out there asap, which he doesn't. He lets Monahan have a shift. He's used Stajan for D zone faceoffs in OT before, and then Stajan hightails it to the bench.
I was so depress this season, I recently dug up the file AC compiled on the Flames come back win last season. And ever since I started watching that, they started the come back win. I think I"ll watch it before every game now. Thanks AC
