With his 4 points, Gaudreau moved ahead of the guy who set up the GWG for 11th overall in points from the 2011 Draft class.

He did it in his 107th NHL game. No one ahead of him on the list has fewer than 160 games played.

If everyone on the list keeps scoring at the same pace they have been this season, Johnny should be solidly in the top 10 of his draft class by the end of the season.

You're referring to the Jamie Lundmark-led comeback pbp'd by Loubo where they came from 4-2 to 5-4 in the final 5 minutes in Detroit. Yeah good game.

Last year's Ottawa game was insane (for a SOL). I think that was my highlight comeback of last year. Watching the team on their feet when they made it 4-1 (!) as if they were within a goal and the tv crew basically laughing at them for getting excited, but they knew it was just a matter of time before they erased all 4 goals and did it in like 10 minutes capped off by Russell who puts in 2 after going the year goal-less to that point I think. Just insanity. Can't remember anything quite like it in terms of overcoming such a gap after being outclassed for 50 minutes at the tail end of a season long trip and just knowing somehow the impossible was somehow going to happen because you could see it in all their body language.

That was the most entertaining game I've seen in over a decade. More of that hockey please!

Not only is Johnny clutch, he also has to be one of best, most creative passers in the league.

If "generational" McDavid produced showed Gaudreau's stat lines and offensive prowess after 110 ish games, they'd probably say he's just about on track.

And yes 64 points as a rookie isn't out of this world, but you have to take into account what he does for the team, how he elevates others, the level of talent he plays with, and the rate at which he produced particularly in the latter two thirds of the season after requiring a short period of time to become accustomed to the NHL level.
Don't disagree with most of what you said, but at Johnny's age, it would be unusual to have a while bunch more development. An 18 year old scoring like Johnny would be more exceptional

Default Flames tie game with 1.2 seconds left. Beat Bruins 5-4 in OT. Johnny Hattri...

I haven't seen anyone mention Hartley yet, so I feel it's appropriate to call out that he deserves some of the praise for last night. The way he utilized his timeout in OT, the way he had to wait to get Gaudreau out in OT because Boston carried the majority of the play, someone broke their stick and Gaudreau jumped on to race over to back check and when the played stopped, even though he had just gone out, Hartley pulled him back off the ice and waited for the right moment to send him over the boards, only to then send him out twice in in the span of a minute... Those 30 second shifts keep the guys fresh enough to be able to do it.

It was great coaching that helped set things up to play out the way they did.

And to the Oilers fan that called Calgary "the luckiest team" they ever saw:
You just saw your team win a game in OT after getting dominated to the tune of 42-18 in shots at one point and multiple point black opportunities shot wide or hit the post.

I still remember posters before last year advocating that the Flames should trade Gaudreau because he was too small and had little chance of having impact in the NHL.

Go eat crow!

Flames tied for 4th worst record in league. Flames only 5 points out of playoff spot. Thank god the Pacific is a horrible division.

The time is now to make a run. If the flames can't build off of their last 2 games then there is no hope for them. I'm still scared about our goaltending situation.

I was one of the ones who said we should trade him not because he was small but he apparently even back then he had huge value. Wanted to cash in on that.

I'll have my crow for breaky though, ran out of bread yesterday.

Did anyone miss Russell particularly in this game? When he's out, Hamilton actually gets minutes because Hartley can't mindlessly play his golden boy.

I think back to the Chicago game where he went down in the first and the Flames completely dominated and the defense looked fine.

My quote of the game, courtesy of the Bruins broadcast team is "oh man, what a waterbug" of Johnny Hockey. It was fun the watch the Boston broadcast. They kept griping about how unfair every penalty call to the Bruins was, how Bennett kept getting away with high sticking infractions and they also were confident the game was over before Hudler scored at the end of the third to take the game to OT.

Yes, just like others wanted him to spend last season in the AHL to get used to the speed of the pro game.

No doubt. Also pretty sure the lottery ball oilers forever forfeit their right to ever call anyone "lucky"....

And now the question is - can the pro game adjust to the speed of Johnny Hockey.

Sure he's great in high school, but lots of small guys succeed at that age.

College and juniors aren't anything compared to the pro game.

More Hobey Baker winners don't amount to anything than the ones that do.

The German national team is a far cry from NHL level competition.

Maybe a PP specialist but teams will figure him out.

At least once he faces NHL defensemen.

Top pairing NHL defensemen.

And top shutdown lines.

He's just one hit away.

Just wait until playoffs when teams really care.

And let's not forget that sophomore slump.

He'll sign an offer sheet, he's gone, trade him so we get something!
