I think this great! If the fans want Scott. Let them have Scott. If the people want the NDP let them...oops too much.

The voting structure is what it is.

Ultimately, the person this likely screws over is Max Domi, who likely would have made it to represent Arizona as a forward otherwise.

What's the Pacific team likely to look like?
The goalies will almost certainly be Jones & Quick.

The defence is likely Ekman-Larsson, Doughty, and Burns.

On forward, you have Scott guaranteed. Gaudreau is Mr 3-on-3, so you know he'll be there. Hall is putting up points in Stinktown.

Anaheim needs a representative, which is probably Perry by default.

For Vancouver, the Sedins are carrying them this year, so it has to be one of them, but I can't see them both going.

That leaves one extra spot. Pavelski is a point a game player who has never been to the ASG, so you have to think it's his spot.

Ultimately it doesnt screw them over that badly. They're young, they'll get another shot. It isnt the end of the world.

So John Scott in the ASG won't be entertaining? Or YOU don't think John Scott in the ASG would be entertaining? There you go, arrogantly trying to speak for everyone, again.

CP's epic troll defending people trolling the NHL and voting Scott in. Shocking.

I think it's awesome that the NHL is actually allowing him to participate. Maybe now the NHL will take the initiative to reduce the impact the consumers have on player selection so this doesn't happen again, because a player that should be there isn't going anymore. You can't give the people this much power since a moderate amount of them aren't taking it seriously.

I don't know the terms of the bonuses on Domi's contract, but playing in the ASG could mean up to $212,500 for a kid on his ELC.

NHL was asking for it. They thought they are giving the fans a favour by making them decide who they want. Since every team can only represent one player in the All Star, that means a more deserving players like Max Domi or Anthony Duclair or some other players more deserving will not be able to be in the All Star because the fans voted a bum.

While true, my point stands. It wont be their last chance nor will it be the last couple hundred grand they'll ever earn.

And I imagine that that tweet from Jagr was in jest because it isnt like John Scott is going to be an All-Star wrecking ball or dropping the gloves with anyone.

The Allstar game is a joke and the NHL and it's owners have allowed that to happen.

People who want to watch entertaining hockey won't be watching the ASG.

Hockey fans won't find it entertaining. If you're a ln actual hockey fan and want to see the best, most skills players in the world do you really think you want to see Scott? I think gimmick fans will be entertained, ones who want to laugh and see something that's "cool for the sake of being cool" will like it but if you're an actual fan of skilled hockey, this is an insult. So sure, some will find it entertaining but will thy find it entertaining for the reason it's supposed to be? It's and NHL All Star game, Scott isn't even in the NHL let alone an all star...but I'm sure if they let a bunch of maximum security prisoners play hockey, people would watch that too... I guess glorifying someone who's constantly breaking the rules and hurting people is more important than sending actual all stars to the all star game.
