I'm aware that the Ravens can release him, that's fine.

But can the NFL re-suspend him? Isn't that against collective bargaining?

If I were the PA and I know the PA is weak in football and it would be really bad for PR.

BUT if I were the PA I'd have to appeal this suspension and bring up the issues you guys have brought up above.. they are only reacting because the tape got out, why did they only suspend him 2 games while having all the evidence and then change their mind now? That's the PA's job, to expose how stupid Goddell and the Ravens were originally and protect player's rights.

I'm betting the 49ers would rather have kept Glenn Winston at this point.

Doubtful - there were already rumblings in 49ers camp about veteran players being unhappy about the team travelling across the continent just so Jim could have his team practice with John's team.

Of course, that may have been the smoke the lead to the LaMicheal James being cut released.

Was intended to be a little tongue-in-cheek, but the timing with Rice being punted from the Ravens is interesting.

The Ravens and Goodell absolutely deserve a ton of heat for how they've respectively handled this. The fact TMZ got evidence the NFL couldn't is mightly damning, either the league chose to not pursue it or it chose to ignore it. Goodell should have been stiff right away and is essentially using this as his "make things right" card. And the Ravens had every intention of putting him out there until this video came out. Yet in the end I don't expect Goodell or the Ravens to suffer at all here.

"The way the game went, we just never felt the need for him," Pettine said of Manziel, who barely took the Browns baseball cap off his head all day, inspiring some to claim his new nickname should be "Johnny Bench."

TMZ Harvey Levin tells fox 5 dc Roger Goodell and the NFL knew about the videos and tuned a blind eye. Will release the info tomorrow.

I haven't read much about this today and whats been discussed or speculated.

I suspect the NFL may have been aware of the video and for some reason believed that it would never become public.

Funny though, what did they think happened in the elevator before the video surfaced. The lady was pushed lightly and fell, hitting her head on the way down?
The media is guilty for not following this up from the start and almost defending Rice as being a good guy. What did the media think happened in the elevator?

The NFC East is so bad. With the way the rest of the division's week 1 games have gone so far, can you imagine if the Eagles hadn't come back to beat the Jags yesterday?

I don't think the media did it. Most condemned the 2 game suspension.

TMZ says they'll be releasing evidence that the NFL saw the whole video before deciding on a 2 game suspension

You known you've done goof when he's been pissed off all day about this.

If Goodell truly knew about this video before, there's no way he can stay as commish...is there?

I don't know. The bounty scandal was a pretty low point for him and he survived it. That said, he'd have absolutely zero integrity and credibility left.

Hes so clueless... team in london, 18 game schedule, drug testing fiasco, and expanded playoffs. All in the name of "player safety".
