Throw in the Boston connection that many seemed to ignore the facts on and attribute a lot of their success to him and it is easy to see how the Weisbrod myth kind of steamrolled into something a lot more than it ever appears he was.

No class here. Unless Feaster took a dump on Brian's desk, I can't see any excuse for this timing.
It's freaking evil.

Feaster probably did drop a mud monkey on Burke's desk, while Weisbrod drank whiskey and filmed it.
Lesson learned - don't piss off white-haired one.

It's two weeks until Christmas, not December 24. The business can't stop for an entire month because of the holidays.

To me this hints of an ownership group that is impatient and nervous. They see the slightly dwindling ticket sales, and are looking for ways to get back into the playoffs again...instead of the goal being winning the Stanley Cup, as it should be.
I guess we'll wait to see what happens, but from first blush, I'm not crazy about this move. I guess we'll see as soon as the first trade goes down.

Granlund has 14 points in his last 10 games, Ferland has 18 in his last 13... what criteria are you working with? The potential of the young skill guys on the farm has never been this high or deep.

Because you like overreacting for no reason?
0 reason to think that JG or the 1st would be gone and very little reason to think that Sven would go either.

Hearing Buffalo Sabres are speeding up process to hire their GM after what happened today with Flames Change.

If Burke is not taking over full time then Darcy Regier is coming on board IMO

Gah more Nieuwendyk stuff:
Eric Duhatschek @eduhatschek 23s
Nieuwendyk worked as a special assistant to the GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2008-09 and Burke recommended him to the Dallas Stars
Eric Duhatschek @eduhatschek 11s
Nieuwendyk is a popular former player in Calgary, and seemed to do a pretty job as GM with the Stars. He and Burke can work together.
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 22s
As @DarrenDreger suggests, Nieuwendyk would make a lot of sense for the Flames for obvious reasons... we shall see.

Hearing Burke has already begun process of contacting GM candidates. I suspect some familiar names such as Nieuwendyk will be on the list..
Nieuwendyk makes me nervous.

Nieuwendyk would be a terrible move. That James Neal trade he made with Pittsburgh alone is enough to scare me.

Dumb logic.
The City does not equal The Flames.
This City deserves way better than the Flames.
Now they suck and are evil too just to top it off.

Yup, IIRC Murray Edwards runs a tight ship and last year Feaster might as well be wearing clown shoes...
