Fixed. Niskanen has turned out to be a great D man for Pitts.

maybe?

Unlikely. Burke would have fired Hartley too.
Besides, treating the kids like they need to earn their time isn't exactly a bad thing. Certainly when compared to Edmonton's "do what you want" strategy.

Except for picking Monahan and dropping Comeau for a pick, I did not like most of the moves made by Feaster, so I am not sorry to see him go. I am 100% sure Burke will bring more excitement and entertainment for the Flames' fans.

Timing might have more to do with someone the Sabres are trying to hire. Burke trying to get in before they hire the guy he is targeting.

I don't get why Burke would not just step into the GM spot, it is what he does best. That and yap.

Sick.
Holiday freeze my ass. I didn't even really like Feaster that much. But this blows.
No class here. Unless Feaster took a dump on Brian's desk, I can't see any excuse for this timing.
It's freaking evil.

Tell you what I read into it, Murray Edwards has finally woken up and Ken King no longer has any say in what goes on in Hockey Op's - even better news than the Feaster firing, if true.

I have high hopes for Ferland who's IMHO power forward material.
Baertschi - Monahan - Ferland could be a scary 2nd line in the future.

Some strong names among those I've listed. However, Nieuwendyk seems to be a great fit. We'll see.

Well he has a SCF appearance (which wasn't a fluke run) and a couple of ECF so it isn't like he is Kevin Lowe.
I am not sure he would be the right guy but he has been in charge of a lot of successful drafts and it is hard to argue with the talent he brought in through the draft to Buffalo over his time there.

This team's ownership, management from the top down seems in disarray with the moves, firings etc.
Just do not appear to be as stable as years back..

Still not a very strong team in the weak East.
Thought things were going well with our rebuild so far.
Hope I shouldn't be, but I am worried.
|
Burke wasn't involved in Grabovski's buyout and it's looking like a mistake. He wasn't utilized properly the lockout year and it showed. But with Burke running the show he played and looked like a 55+ point producer and today he is on pace for nearly 70. You could add a bunch of other points to that list but Grabovski one is iffy to me.
