West Brom vs. Swansea should be streamed on TSN.ca, Arsenal vs. Tottenham should be on TSN2, and MU and Liverpool should be on Sportsnet World. Not near my TV to check the guide though.

Thank you very much. I didn't see it there on TSN2 when I first looked, but I see it now.

Well the thing is - you didn't avoid my post - you referred to it and then said something vague about looking into how matches were scheduled.

The fixture computer compiled/compiles all the fixtures prior to the start of the season. You could google this up and I suggest you do, because the descriptions of the permutations involved are surprisingly interesting - the role of West Ham is particularly interesting.

Also interesting is why Sunday 4pm is Sky's flagship time for showing football. The reason Sky chose this time was down to the UK licensing laws that existed when the Premier League was formed. Pubs in England and Wales used to have to close between 3 pm and 7pm. By having a 4 pm kickoff, going to the pub to watch the games was impossible. Therefore, to watch these matches, which were pretty much always the biggest matches of the week, such as Manchester United v Liverpool fixtures, you had to subscribe to Sky.

One constant from then and which still holds true today - no UK broadcaster can carry a Saturday 3pm fixture live. Therefore, that match was never likely to take place at 3pm on a Saturday.

edit: Here is an article that was out a few years ago explaining some of the permutations that go into scheduling.

Liverpool deserve the lead, United have been poor so far

If Suarez ever leaves Liverpool, no worry - they already have a worthy successor when it comes to his antics. Iago Aspas - what a dislikeable little ####head. Hate his antics already.

United have been poor but they have been better than Liverpool.

Although I give Liverpool credit they have been outplayed in all 3 games this year and won two and have the lead in the 3rd. Hard to see them keeping that up all year but I doubt that will stop their pathetic fanbase from proclaiming them as the best team ever.

Van Persie showing no composure at all. A good chance he'll be sent off. Had he been playing for Arsenal, he may already have gone.

If Liverpool are planning on hanging on like this for the rest of the game, I don't think it will end well for them.

What a great win for Liverpool. Manchester United were completely devoid of ideas in the midfield area once again. Cleverley tried his best to grab the match by the scruff of the neck but he had little help from anyone else.

Three clean sheets for Liverpool so far, not a bad way to start the season.

That was a huge win. Liverpool didnt play particularly well in the 2nd half but they defended extremely well. Neither side created many chances in this one.

In fairness to bitey, he has talent. Aspas is just useless. Doesn't look like a PL footballer.

LOL! What? First your Scholes > Carrick statement then this.

Yeah, them back and sideways passes really stretched Liverpool and took the game by the scruff of the neck. I'm going to give you a fools pardon and assume you didn't watch the game? Him and Carrick dominated midfield as they did last Monday sure but everything he did was safe (see sideways and backwards).

Don't know why Baines is the target when from todays evidence imo a backup RB is more needed as well as a midfielder with a touch of vision. Jones is not an effective RB. Giggs was on the pitch for at least 20 mins past his expiry date, time for him to sit a while and get Kagawa going.

Decent performance up to the last third but a blown three points against an average team.

United didnt do anywhere near enough to call it a blown three points.

and that's the problem. Liverpool was half dead in the second half, United should have torn them apart. They didn't, not even a bit.

Lots of trouble for United today. Moyes calling it "a good performance", him leaving Kagawa completely out of the squad but starting the 76-year-old one ... worrying stuff.

Well terrible results today but at least all 5 top 4 contenders have a loss and it was on the road so not so bad for Spurs.

Not really any good football played in the two marquee games. Liverpool and Arsenal get two early, lucky goals and then hold on and pray for the rest of the game. Man U and Tottenham clearly the better teams but didn't do enough creatively to get the goals they deserved.

Any time that United play a low level team they should expect to get 3 points and they did badly out play Liverpool, even if they weren't as good as you would expect United to be.

Correction ... they didn't do anything anywhere near enough as regards creating chances. That's why it's a blown three points. They had the run of the pitch in the second half.

When the whole second half is played in the Pool half but they are unable to create a decent chance then it's a blown chance.

Two average teams as far as creating chance go, one a lot more dominant in midfield. The only difference is a garbage set piece goal.

Be happy with your 3 points but I wouldn't delude yourself that that was anywhere close to a half decent performance.

My cable box guide still said "NASCAR" or something for both TSN channels, even this morning as the game was playing (albeit on TSN and not TSN2). Luckily common sense prevailed. . A pain for those who are trying to PVR matches, however.
