Oh great, more of this "also Flames fans" nonsense.
Like all Flames fans say the exact same things, at all times.

Barzal is a 0.8 PPG player in the regular season who becomes a 0.78 PPG player in the post season.
0.76 PPG over his last two playoffs, when he appeared in 41 games.
I don’t think the Islanders will trade him to us, but if ever there was a player to 1-for-1 this over, it’s Mathew Barzal.
Tkachuk, meanwhile, is a 0.89 PPG player in the regular season, and 0.56 PPG player in the playoffs.
And we could get Barzal for that?
GTFO, Chuckles.

What a depressing off-season! Losing Gaudreau for nothing. Maybe being forced to trade Tkachuk. Dealing with the possibility that Dube may have been involved in a sexual assault. What else is next?

Doubtful. 25 year old Captain, and local Michigan guy. He's already home.

It’s incredible how different the opinions seem to be by other fan bases compared to CP on the trade value of Tkachuk.

Lol, this site. I don't think the Blues would even even trade Kyrou for Tkachuk one-on-one. He had a monster season and playoffs.

Yup Jersey doesn’t have much for goaltending. They could still fail to take a step forward this year. I’d want their first round pick.

They would, but I agree they’re closer to equal in trade value than not.

I don’t think the team is trading him for futures….I think they will still be in win now mode. In my opinion they trade him for a young proven NHLer (in the mid 50-60 point range), an older NHLer to make salary space and a draft pick.

Big deal. He is a scoring winger compared to a 100+ young power forward who is the local boy. If the Blues could get Tkachuk straight up for Kyrou they would be running to the fax machine. I like Kyrou a lot but he doesn't have the tool box of Tkachuk nor the value.

What your expectations are...mean nothing. The player’s market value by the opinion of other teams , as well as their cap space, means everything.

For a star like Tkachuk, you SET your price. Ottawa set their price for Stone. Buffalo set their price for Eichel. 3 young assets is the MINIMUM price for a power forward (very rare these days) who scored over 100 points, and is only 24. If you let other teams determine the value of your players, you get Feaster-like returns for your franchise players. Burke and other GM's talk about this all the time, it's standard practice.

You absolutely allow the interested teams to make their best offer....and then choose to deny or accept or negotiate further on their offer.
You do NOT set your price!
That is poor negotiating practice.
