Nichushkins back. So it kinda limits the Avs a bit more in what they can do.

I agree. It’s centred around the leafs for the first hour but they’re balanced. If anything Kypreos has over the years died for the Leafs to grow some balls. He’s always pushing against them. Deservedly so.

What kind of a take is this? I don't live in Calgary but I am a Flames fan.

Are you sure you're a true Flames fan if you're against taking harmless jabs at Oiler fans?

I see, but we have so much ammo so I would hope you can do better than that if you are a true Flames fan haha

Their hypothetical was also pretty balanced with an open discussion that even that package wouldn’t be good enough for the Flames. They have nothing against the Flames. Crazy takes.
Agree with you completely. There are some (not all, but many) hockey fans (not only CP, but they're definitely a lot here), who carry around this 'woe is us', 'everyone is biased against us' and 'everyone favours Leafs/Oilers/Canucks'. Actually, you can replace 'Leafs/Oilers/Canucks' with any Canadian team that isn't their team, so for Canuck fans, it would be 'Leafs/Oilers/Flames'.

Doesn't matter if it's the refs, the NHL, Gary Bettman or the media. They're all against us! It's always funny reading a GT on CP and seeing posts about Hrudey being unfair doing colour commentary against the Flames, but seeing the exact opposite on the internet from the Flames opponent, saying Hrudey is biased against their own team and super homer for the Flames. People will see and hear what they want. I always wonder how these people deal with things in their own lives. Is everyone also against them all the time in the situations they experience?

Before they were cancelled, I used to love Tim and Friends but happy now with Kyper and Bourne.

Flyers just announced Drysdale and Ristolainen with week to week injuries, Konecny also day to day. They could make a splash… literally less points than the two wild card teams but in a playoff spot 5 points ahead of NJD because of a weak division this year.

The reason you draft big in those rounds is hoping the skill is developed later. Most of the time it isnt but occasionally you get a late bloomer and a steal.

You can't teach size

Time for New Jersey to step up. 1st Holtz and Seamus for Markstrom 20% retained and Walker Duher.

If he went to Chicago, the Windy Pissy could be Draisatl's nickname.

With the shape the Flyers are in, I don't know how NJ doesn't step up. It is right there for the taking.

I wonder if the market for Tanev is going to hold up the market for Hanifin. I know they are different players in terms of style and one is a right hand shot vs the other is a left hand shot. But some of these teams that are rumoured to be interested in Tanev might pivot to Hanifin if they lose out on Tanev. If Tanev got traded in the next day or so, it will leave time for the market to shift where all of a sudden Hanifin might get interest from teams that lost out on Tanev… with a week left till the deadline at that point, his demand might go up over that time.

NJ should definitely step up. It’s not like if they fall short because of the hole that they dug that it’s all over for next season. They can try and put in a huge season.

Even NHL radio was saying tonight that the Devils could contend for the final playoff spot if they make a move for a goalie. Clock is ticking on their playoffs.

I’ve never shied away from taking shots at Oilers and Oiler fans at any time. They’re not going to all be nuclear missiles. Doesn’t mean you don’t fire them.

It’s not just the Flyers, they need to beat Pittsburgh, Islanders and Capitals too.

That’s 5 teams fighting for one spot.

I wonder if there's a hockey trade out there. Part of me wants to hang on to Mangiapane but what if we shipped him off to Columbus for Adam Boqvist. This gives us a younger RHS dman that's rumored available and fills a hole once Tanev/Hanifin are gone. This also opens up a forward position for any acquisition or young guy from the AHL(Coronato).

Boqvist really seems to be struggling defensively since he's come into the league. Would be more interested in Jake Christiansen from them if taking a flyer on a dman. Cheaper contract, lower acquisition cost and has turned into a pretty dominant player in the AHL.

Very surprising to see how badly Sillinger and Kent Johnson are struggling this year there as well. Lots of young guys there who could use a change of scenery but they would be selling for pennies on the dollar right now. Will be interesting to see where they go moving forward, no top line centre, no decent starter, no top pairing RHD.

I have heard this from multiple people around the league.
I always found it interesting when both Draisaitl and McDavid said "Cup or bust" before the season started. When they said that it was like they were letting everyone know in a non direct way that either we win it this year with us as part of the team or it's over.
