No. My bad, I forgot to include that aspect. Kyper and Bourne and the other guy stressed they'd just give up the 1st but acknowledged that Tre clearly for some reason doesn't want to trade it away.

That’s part of the problem. Because of previous deadline deals, teams looking for d-men, like the Bruins, Lightning, and Panthers, don’t have firsts this year.

It seems like a strict principle he has always followed. I don’t think he has ever traded a first round pick for a rental. Too bad Brad… then you don’t get him.

Treliving is literally a big baby, I’m so glad he’s gone. It’s the damned least you could do Tre after the Monahan fiasco, the thought of helping his leafs out after he’s been such a dink about acquiring our D all year makes me hope Tanev ends up somewhere else.

I kind of don't blame Treliving for being hesitant to move that 1st TBH.

You already don't have a 2025 1st, you don't have 2024, 2025, or 2026 2nd round picks.

Having 1 pick in the first 2 rounds over the next three seasons kills the franchise ability to add depth over time.

1 1st round pick won’t remedy those fears; he’s really got no choice but to push all in with his chips he just doesn’t like it and is being greedy all at once. Might come to burn him yet again where he’s not willing to spend up or just doesn’t have the ability to.

I’m surprised that teams haven’t already offered a 1st for Tanev. He is a stabilizing presence on D and contending teams would have a late 1st which is very fair for him.

I’ll post some Sharks tidbits later today.

I agree with you there, it’s a risky proposition to help a bitter rival and a trade for Tanev would require an overpay from Edmonton for sure.

I lived in Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Calgary growing up. My Dad passed away in 2009 and to be close to family moved to San Jose. That was 15 years ago and I’m still in San Jose.

Since then, got married to an amazing woman, have 2 wonderful kids, a dream job, and bought a dream home. So after his passing which was the hardest time in my life, I wouldn’t change a thing (and cp was so great during that time. It’s part of the reason why I continue to post here even though the Flames are my #1 rival. CP was good during those times with the support). 15 years ago it was banter back and forth (and we were terrible then in the decade of darkness). Now it’s just to talk hockey. I will die an Oilers fan and have never loved a professional sports team more than them, but I realize what site I’m posting on.
