Vote for President is only one of many things one votes for on General Election Day, including congress, possibly senate, possibly state, county, municipal and other ballot initiatives. One might want to vote on lots of things, hate both presidential candidates, so they spoil the ballot in protest.

Maybe if Gaskal comes in once a week and does an 'Around the League' for the news we can discuss celebrity tweets.

I don't know if we should draw lines between what is allowed and not allowed in a thread like this.

Oh I wasn't asking for a mod-enforced rule, mostly just wanted to point out that celeb tweets are silly and not important.

Some of these conclusions are straightforwardly true. Zunger tells us that “the aims of crushing various groups—Muslims, Latinos, the black and trans communities, academics, the press—are very much primary aims of the regime”—but you don’t need a sophisticated analysis of bureaucratic sub-departments to know that; just basic reading comprehension. Others are a little more suspect. Trump and his cronies want people to protest, Zunger writes. “The goal is to create resistance fatigue.” They want judges to issue court orders demanding that people detained at airports are allowed to see a lawyer; it’s all part of their game, “testing the extent to which the DHS (and other executive agencies) can act and ignore orders from the other branches of government.” What looks like the beginnings of a breakdown in effective government, or an opportunity, is nothing of the sort. They planned everything, and everything fell into place.

I hardly think anyone could make that much progress in 4 years of Trump, or in 2 years of House/Senate control. He is already seeing falling approval rates and a lot of big names who were willing to tolerate or work with him backing down.
I think the more time people sit and worry about how the US is going to start nuclear war in 3 years, the less effective the government will become, which is probably want Trump wants, because it gives him more power.
But if the American people would actually start involving themselves in the legislative process, they could make sure that in 2 years the House and Senate flips back to the Democrats.
Instead we'll hear bitching and moaning for the next 4 years instead of a constructive effort to try and win the country back.

Oh, you mean like the more than 1000 Progressive candidates who have signed up to run for office since Trump's inauguration? That kind of constructive effort?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/...b08a14f7e7263e
Or the workshop after the Women's March to teach women the ins and outs of running for public office?
http://fortune.com/2017/01/09/emilys...on-washington/
Or maybe the fact that various senators and representatives are throwing hissy fits because democrats/progressives are absolutely obliterating their phone lines and voicemail inboxes and showing up at their offices to voice their views and to try to influence those representatives to actually do their jobs and represent their constituents?
http://nymag.com/thecut/2017/01/virg...-my-grill.html
Perhaps its that the GOP is now looking to fix the ACA rather than repeal it, because all this "bitching" is forcing their hand to realize that taking healthcare from millions of people is maybe not a good idea.
http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare...o-repairing-it
This isn't just "bitching," this is a lot of bitching backed up with lots of action. This is people getting involved in the democratic process in a whole mountain of different ways. This is the best thing to come out of a Trump presidency. It forced a whole lot of people out of complacency and apathy.

Yeah Kellyanne might actually be more deranged than Trump if that's possible. Certainly explains why he likes her so much, always good to have people around that make you look better by comparison. Here's the clip.

Two hashtags I've seen that are perfect for this one
#NeverRemember
#AlwaysForget
Also predictably lots of Frederick Douglass getting killed in the Bowling Green Massacre references as well.

In case people aren't getting, a spokeperson for the Donald Trump administration just invented a terrorist attack that never occurred in bowling green kentucky.
Then, an absolute scumbag Rand Paul went on TV and feigned outrage over a terrorist attack that never happened because it never happened in his home town.
They just lied to millions of americans and journalists who cover them by inventing a terrorist attack.
Rand Paul is supposed to be one of the moderate, rational ones. Hopefully after this we can put that one to bed alongside Paul Ryan's hoax-corpse.

Rand Paul has been getting worse and worse alll the time. He's definitely as messed up as the rest of the republicans now.

Where'd he do that? I saw a Morning Joe clip where he says that there was suspending of refugees from Iraq in response to an attempted bombing in KY but that's all.
Which of course is still wrong, at least according to prosecutors.

Thanks for explaining. If you search for "Bowling Green Massacre" on Wikipedia it takes you to the article on Kellyanne Conway haha.
