Why does it have to come from a conservative viewpoint? Pelosi is part of the old Democratic elite. You know the old, senile, spineless cowards who made sure the deck was stacked against Sanders?
Democrats need to clean house and give some of their younger voices a leading role. Pelosi is stale junk.

So it's clearly very important that someone not mentally stable enough to sign their own checks has unfettered access to firearms. I feel much safer now.

How is that possible? How could people possibly think that's a good idea?

Because it's America and anything that regulates guns, no matter how logical, is bad.
And the Senate just keeps things rolling.
Quote:
The Congressional Review Act (CRA) challenge passed by the Senate undoes the Interior Department’s Stream Protection Rule, a regulation requiring coal firms to clean up waste from mountaintop removal mining and prevent it from going into local waterways.
The coal industry and its congressional allies have looked for ways to kill the rule since Obama regulators began crafting it early in his term.

So we desperately need mentally ill people to have weapons, but we definitely don't need to worry about clean water.
How the hell is this real life?

Serious question, Witty: Is there any point that you seriously contemplate a move to Canada? Everything in your posting history suggests you're a way better fit up here.

Millionaire comedian Sarah Silverman appeared to call for a military coup in a tweet last night, as protests against far-right Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos turned violent.
'WAKE UP & JOIN THE RESISTANCE. ONCE THE MILITARY IS W US FASCISTS GET OVERTHROWN. MAD KING & HIS HANDLERS GO BYE BYE,' Silverman wrote.
Later she added: 'We're all gonna die sounds so dire but we are though (all gonna die).'

Is is possible to renounce your citizenship to one country, before having citizenship in another?

It was never really a serious consideration until November. I haven't yet looked into exactly what would be involved in the process, but it's getting really tempting. I miss being able to read the news without being bombarded with awful stories the entire time.
Honestly I'm probably more likely to move more into the Northeast/New England area, Boston or something along those lines. I don't need to worry about citizenship/immigration issues that way, just way higher rent costs, and Boston is pretty wonderfully liberal. I've been a few times, and it's a great city, so long as I don't have to talk hockey with Bruins fans and I can avoid Patriots fans (if I want obnoxious football fans I can just stay here in Pittsburgh with Steelers fans).
EDIT: All that said, there's a big part of me that wants to stay here, because in Boston my vote is just another in a sea of blue votes. Here in a swing state, I feel like maybe my vote actually means something in the larger picture.

It's apparently against some UN convention to make a person stateless, although it still happens from time to time. So if you tried to renounce without something already set up, it's likely that they wouldn't accept it.

Unbelievable? Nah this is the new normal.
Edit: Never mind. Apparently older footage from the campaign trail. I'd never seen it before.

Yup. Gas costs less now than it did before the carbon tax, we have pipelines coming out our asses and still no sales tax, but #### that carbon.
It could all end tomorrow. At this stage, I'm reasonably convinced we're going to witness America use nuclear weapons within three months.

If you think gas being cheaper is in any way related to the carbon tax then I really have no idea what to say. I'll just laugh instead.

I may need to tune out the news for awhile. Every day it gets worse. My blood pressure can't handle seeing Trump sink America into the mud. It's not even my country and I'm getting worked up. I love America and what it's supposed to stand for, and I love the people of America for the most part, so it pains me to see their country being torn apart by a sociopath.

To be fair, if a mentally ill person can become President, mentally ill people should be allowed to follow their dream of gun ownership.

We don't have a sales tax. If you'd rather pay 13% on everything instead of an extra $600 a year to heat your house and an indistinguishable amount of money on fuel, I really have no idea what to say. I'll just laugh instead.

Are you unaware that we didn't have a sales tax before the carbon tax or are you just doubling down now out of embarrassment?

Can we refrain from posting tweets not from government officials or sources in this thread? They really aren't newsworthy or worth discussion.
Maybe if Gaskal comes in once a week and does an 'Around the League' for the news we can discuss celebrity tweets.
