The school had the parking authority at drop off this morning. The guy literally couldn't write tickets fast enough - people parking in the handicap drop zone, blocking driveways, parking in the bus zone.
Very satisfying to watch people realize they were getting a ticket and try to drive away quickly, knowing they were already busted.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Going to Portugal for 2 weeks to visit my wife's brother and sister. The first 2 days we're in Lisbon before heading to the southern coast. Just so happens while we're there and have a hotel already i was able to snag a ticket for the champions league game, from the club site

I sparked up an old router and renamed it Alex likes dinksicles. My neighbor a few down is Alex and he’s a good guy, took a few months for him to mention it. Haha.
Just got home from making my own donation and found this story. Not happy this guy's dead, I'm happy that someone like this existed:
I should really start doing that. It’s basically in the same building as I work in. I’m O(neg) which was a pain receiving at the hospital but I think it’s good for donating.
I just worry I will feel like garbage the rest of the day? Is that what happens?

If you're O-negative they will love you - it's the universal donor.
I've personally never felt ill after donating, but it can happen. Make sure you've eaten and are well hydrated before donating and you should be fine.

No, you end up feeling great because you did something selfless. You may also faint.
I knew you’d chime in and make me feel crappy. Haha. Figured it would be Pepsifree with a pic on the blood donors hall of fame wall. Do you slide that in betwixt your mustard seed volunteerism.
My dad used to be sought after at Michigan for it. They actually paid him in to donate which he helped pay for his school. Hope he didn’t donate other fluids.
wrmmh... i was able to get tickets to the brier (curling) and i'll be taking my mom for a day next week.
do i like curling... not really, but my mom absolutely LOVES it.
maybe 10 years ago or so there was a big curling thing in penticton and we got my folks a tournament pass and they had a blast going to every game.
i would have done that again for the brier, but my dad passed away 7 years ago so my mom doesn't really have anyone to go with.... and she turns 81 in a couple weeks, so i wouldn't want her going there by herself (i know she wouldn't feel comfortable doing that).
so yea... today i called her with the news and she is sooooooo excited!! my mom's going to have a blast - and that really makes me happy!
so today was the day i took my mom to the brier.
she was sooooooo excited and had an absolute blast!!! seriously, she was almost bouncing all day.... which is quite something for an almost 81 year old 'grammie' (as my kids call her).
she got to see all her favourite curlers and was just beaming.
the only bummer in all of it was i wish my dad was still alive so they could have gone together, but for me to get to take her out for the day was the next best thing!
** oh - it's quite different watching an even like this live. on tv they basically focus on 1 sheet of ice, but every draw there are 4 sheets going and it's tough keeping track of what is going on with all of them at the same time!

Giving blood is the best. You feel like a hero and get cookies, juice and soup after.
You might feel a little light in the head for a bit after, but nothing I've ever really noticed. Take the cookies tho.
