If staying meant losing Canadian citizenship, then nope not a chance I'd stay.

I love Alberta, was born here, but I’d be out so quick upon separation. I’m Canadian first and Albertan second.
I also don’t feel ‘hard done by’ by Ottawa, and I’m still trying to figure out why so many people here - living in one of the best countries in the world - seem to think they are. Federal government is the least impactful level of government in my day-to-day life. People should be more concerned with municipal and provincial.

Moscow relentlessly exploits western citizens’ right to freedom of speech by insidiously inserting paid propaganda — chiefly into online networks — into those dialogues. Even for cultural, opinion, and political leaders, telling fact from fiction and propaganda from legitimate speech is not easy.
Unfortunately, pointing this out often raises angry and defensive responses among those who find meaning or belonging in online communities, and even from experts saturated with Russian misinformation. In turn, those who raise the issue can find themselves under attack and branded as opponents to free speech.

I was reading the comments to a Danielle Smith tweet today and they were all from separatists saying pretty much this exact thing.
They are a bunch of angry, stupid people with a very warped view of the current world and Alberta's future in such a scenario.
As for leaving if Alberta separated? In a heartbeat. The country they want is not somewhere I want to live. Just not sure where to go. I'm originally from Saskatchewan and most of my family is there (or Alberta), but it's not somewhere I want to live and there is too much of the same sentiment there.

I can only manage to imagine this being a group of 7 or so people who all just keep moving around and changing party names.

This is very true, and I don't understand why Canadians get so wrapped up in Federal politics. I think it's mostly a warped form of entertainment.

That's not a negative for these people, as long as the dictator is white and hates the people you hate.
They'd be happy if there was never another election here because it means the UCP stays in power

If Alberta were to separate, I'd be out of here too, most likely you'd see a big exodus to the other prairie provinces.

Y'all ain't going anywhere. Like the Righties leaving Canada when Carney won, like lefties when Conservative won, like Righties when Notley won, like Lefties when Trump won twice, Like Righties when Obama won.
If we separate, I plan on putting a watermelon in my arse on top of the Calgary Tower.
Bold proclamations when the thing (separation) has zero chance of happening.

It’s not as onerous to leave Alberta than it is to leave the country. Alberta would basically be left with people who have no ties anywhere else in the country.

Was watching the news about the UCP fundraiser in Calgary yesterday with his crap ass fake smug smile makes me want to vomit.
It was record breaking.... deplorable Calgarians.

I don't think these situations are comparable. One is an election, and they tend to swing left and right over time. The other is the promise of removing all the benefits of being Canadian while signing up for a CCP like government for life(if you don't believe they'd gerrymander the #### out of everything to maintain power art all costs, I've got a few bridges in my shop-bring your cheque book).
I'd be ####in' gone, because at my age and health, sticking around to see if a break off landlocked nation can evolve into a place of stability and prosperity while being based on bull#### and fantasy isn't really a thing I'd be excited to experience in person.

I already left.
Is it THE reason we left? No. But it was certainly one of the things that made staying unattractive.
