I remember back in, I think, grade 4-6 range there was a buzz about someone finding an Easyrider in the library with boobies in it. Probably aging myself there.
I also had access to the book Alive at a fairly young age, and that was pretty crazy content for the age I read it at. I'm mostly free of any long term drain bamage.

I explicitly remember watching the NFB's "Changes" in Grade 5. I still remember the damn song

God forbid LGBTQ kids have access to books with characters and experiences they might relate to.
I took a look at the images in question, and they are admittedly a bit on the blue side of things, but I can see they cherry-picked these as fodder for their crusade, considering they seem to be picking on LGBT in particular. It’s pretty obvious what their angle is. Do they think a whole thwack of kids are just going into the library and checking out LGBT graphic novels? I have doubts. Kids barely even go to the library.
And yet, I'm sure these parents have no issue giving their kids smartphones with access to the internet / social media and easy access to images and videos that are like 1000x more explicit.

"My kid would never look at stuff like that. He wouldn't even know how to find it. He's just a kid. He's not even interested in that sort of stuff."
It's all because of those evil librarians putting thoughts in their heads. You remember when you were a kid and the coolest person you knew was the school librarian, don't you?

The UCP government's ongoing plans to advance coal mining in our Rocky Mountains provides very little economic benefit to our province, but significant environmental risk.
Albertans have been clear that they do not want coal mining in our eastern slopes.
There was always pornography in the woods. In the 90s the woods were filled with nudie magazines.

The Republican Party "leader" will be running in Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills, lol.
They will lose by a lot. Danielle Smith has been pounding the pavement in support of Nathan Cooper's Replacement. People complain alot of Rural Albertans being so loyal, but they do all the right things. It would have been nice to see Nenshi push a Candidate at local events.
