He runs his companies with a no BS approach. None. And he is extremely efficient and cost effective. Hence why's been able to create so many successful companies. He's not always liked for his "attitude" and his ability to dismiss people/employees but he's almost always well respected regardless by said employees.

I suggest you all take the time to listen to his audiobook: Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance. It's fantastic and will show you a bit of the real Musk.

Elon has some ideas, but I think the World operates very differently in reality in comparison to how it operates in his head.

For sure, maybe its just that Elon is operating 'Streets Ahead' of the rest of the World and really, truly is the smartest man in the room. Its possible.

I'd surmise it to be highly improbable and I certainly wouldnt put my money on it. I dont have a couple hundred Billion dollars to lose acting like a petulant monkey.

I'd wager rather that Musk started off with many advantages, hit a few home-runs early on off of ideas and financing and moments of opportunity but that now, when his acumen is actually being put to the test its being measured, weighed and found wanting.

This is basically any CEO. It's the reason why Chip Wilson went from black tights inventor to Vancouver real estate buyer.

I don't know if I buy that he has always been an idiot. I think he did some game changing things in bringing electric cars to a viable reality and has created enough momentum for them that we'll keep moving that way even if Tesla implodes.

I think some time during COVID, he completely lost his way and went down some rabbit holes, bought Twitter in a rage fit for no rational reason and is spinning his tires trying to show that he has some purpose for the purchase. His public meltdown is killing both Twitter and Tesla for no rational reason and was completely self inflicted and he's just digging holes deeper for those companies and himself out of some irrational pride.

It's pretty tough to argue that anything he's done in the last few months is good for anyone other than anti-vaxxers and racists getting a platform back.

He made electric cars "cool". I will give him that. They became viable options for upper class buyers. In a sense, he did to electric cars what Steve Jobs did to mobile phones.

We used to think Uber was a visionary concept when in reality they just made a great app for taxis.

I think we get caught up in the hype of new technology and things of that nature. But soon realize that its literally a small innovation on something else. Musk didnt invent electric cars; he didnt invent underground tunnels; he didnt invent satellites or rockets.

What happened to Musk is he bought into his own hype - and tons of chodes did so as well. He has the same echo chamber every start-up founder has. Hangers-on that seek to defend their asinine antics and think every piece of turd idea that comes out of their mouths are money making gold

Well I actually think that truck is pretty awesome! I don't get the adoration for him, and some of his things are just plain dumb. But the truck might be great.

Really? The F150 Lighting is so much better looking. Seems a lot more practical, too. I don't know how an adult could look at both of them, and decide to pay actual money for the Cybertruck. As an 8 year old? Sure.

In the U.S., without airbags, the Cybertruck may well have a chance of being considered legal, and that’s down to a couple of things. Firstly, as the name suggests, it’s a ‘truck’, and secondly, with an expected GVWR of more than 8,501 pounds, it’s likely to be classified as a Class 2B medium-duty vehicle as such, is not legally required to have airbags fitted.

Well I have no idea, but I thought that for passenger vehicles you had to have airbags for a couple decades by now. It's really out of my are of expertise, so I have no clue.

And yeah, I like the look. I think it's pretty awesome looking and I think it's supposed to be functional as well. I mean circus "unveiling" or whatever that was a couple years ago, it seems like it has some good things and is probably a pretty useful vehicle. I'm not really a "car guy" though and just drive a pretty bring sedan...so YMMV.

Based on some testing that some have done, the practicality of EV trucks seems pretty lacklustre, at least as far as towing anything goes with the F150 EVs.
