Lol.

How anyone can continue to get caught up in this ponzi scheme (and every single one, is one), is hilarious.

I read (probably in this thread so I'm just repeating someone) - that a some of the "investment" is from people who would be so annoyed that the dumb guy in their family (or work, or neighbourhood) who loves crypto could possibly get rich - that they end up buying up crypto just to avoid that situation.

Then they need to re-evaluate who the dumb guy in their family is

No, Brewer, please stop.

I wonder how long before it gets hacked? 6 hours? A week?

Wow, that's a lot of vitriol over a rewards program.

"Members can also purchase ‘limited-edition stamps’ (NFTs) through a built-in marketplace within the Starbucks Odyssey web app experience. Limited-edition stamps will be available for all members to purchase directly with a credit card."
This is really all web3 is. a big grift to try and monetize on something that should be free or even a value add to the customer. Not only that, but since its on the bloc, they can track it in perpetuity and continue to get paid if anyone ever tries to sell or trade them.

Ha, I think it's cool that Starbucks is trying it out and I'm interested to see what they do with it. Why judge it before even knowing clearly what the implementation is?

At this point it basically seems like a rewards program and a collectibles program, but the details of it aren't all laid out.

The ethereum merge is just about to happen. The merge will reduce eth's energy requirements by more than 99% and will apparently reduce the entire world's energy consumption by around 0.2%.

of course that does beg the question 'why the hell is 0.3 or 4 of the worlds energy being used by method of exchange that has yet to show any practical advantage and is being used by almost no one for almost no purpose?'

Are you thinking of bitcoin? Ethereum is a pretty different thing.

Merge successful.

I think with the offsets, this means Ethereum is now Carbon Neutral (or almost there), and Polygon is Fully Green, since they fully offset their network in April and 99.5% of their remaining energy consumption goes away after the merge (as they use Ethereum as a validation layer).

I'm looking at ethereum and its 1.5 million transactions a day, as opposed to visa with 150 million that doesn't come close to using 0.001 of global power

Why would you compare it to visa? It's apples to oranges. They're completely different things.
