Maybe cutting off all contact with the media is the best solution for the WRP if this is what is going out there, even after this weekends scandal.

Just the usuall fear mongering from Redford and the PC's

I can't wait to see the next poll numbers out of Calgary and Edmonton.

Calgary Herald article includes Leech's apology.
Still no mention of what question was asked to Leech in the first place.

No, there's plenty of studies and debate about these issues all the time?

Yeah, what he said wasn't racist at all. Just fear mongering.

I'm an idiot. I don't know why I thought that he had jumped ship to the WRP. Thanks for correcting me.
Man, I am going to really have to plug my nose to vote PC.

Yeah, I think its using a randomizer, and it doesn't have a lot to pick from. Not the best design, admittedly, but I think it adds a little to the discussion.

Interestingly, Calgary Greenway is Mayor Nenshi's riding...

What difference does it make? I mean, sure, as a white man, I AM smarter, more empathetic, and sexier than any minority or woman could ever be, but part of being smarter is not rubbing people's faces in it. That's just rude.

Again, its an outrageous thing to say.

I agree, the quote is bad. There was no need to make it worse that it actually was.

Its not fear mongering if you quote what a person says, or post a blog that they've written though. Its funny; most candidates would be thrilled to have their comments widely spread.

On Tuesday at a Wildrose rally, Leech apologized for his radio comments, saying he meant to say that he has no disadvantage as a Caucasian candidate running in Greenway.
|
Leech's explanation.
Unfortunately, that is not what he said. He specifically said that he had an advantage.

Fair enough. It was a sloppy paraphrase by me (and was likely coloured by my disdain for the WRP.) Thanks for keeping me honest.

The fearmongering is complete BS and does not contribute to the electoral process in a positive way but when questioned about it, if you confirm it, then by definition, it really isn't fearmongering any more but simply pointing out what is true.
Perhaps you are saying that if racists, bigots or other undesirable people were elected to office, it wouldn't really change things on a provincial level, because the party as a whole would not try and enact legislation to support those positions. If that is the case, then I agree with you 100%.

I like how almost every quote on the Tory or Wildrose website from the PC side is from Ted Morton. God help us if he's the next leader after Redford.

I'm convinced he's going to loose his seat to Bruce McAllister so the point may be moot.

He also seems to have implied mutually exclusivity between Mulisms or Sikh's and caucasians, which would be rather ignorant.
