My general rule of thumb for driving in the left lane is if there are cars behind you but none in front move the fata over

This is why I don't get that mad at people when they drive/Pass/pedest poorly. My stress levels are lower, and I don't run the risk of getting hit over the head with a bat.
Ages ago when I was in high school, we did a Mickey D run at lunch. I can't remember what exactly went down, but we ended up in a confrontation with another vehicle. My buddy decided to launch his large coke at the other vehicle. Unfortunately in his haste he neglected to notice that his window was still rolled up.

I chucked a Wendy's Sprite through the open window of a minivan once. Guy was screaming at me and my GF spewing all kinds of obscenities because he thought we had a stop sign when we didn't (he did). Followed us for awhile yelling at us at each stoplight. Got fed up, loosened the drink cover and shot putted right into his window.

Felt a little bad 'cause his wife was crying, begging him to calm down and their kids were crying in the back of the van. Very weird situation. Dude had problems.

Tonight this happened: I was driving east on 12 Ave NE, turning south (right) onto Edmonton Trail. I had stopped as there was a pedestrian crossing the road. Buddy traveling westbound on 12 Ave was making a left turn onto Edmonton Trail, and did not even notice the woman crossing the road. She froze in her tracks, with no place to go. I blew the horn, and either that woke him up or he noticed the woman and stopped before he hit her. Pretty scary situation.

I was passing by somebody in the lane beside me yesterday, temporarily in their blind spot for a couple of seconds (no, not driving along in it). On comes the turn signal, naturally after he's already well into my lane. Honk and glare. Buddy flips me the bird. I punch his window at 60 km/h. Motorcycle rage is the best kind.

Back in my HS days a few us were out for a summer nights drive. We were traveling down 17th ave and this car load of teens pulls up beside us and starts mooning us and making funny faces. The driver of said car was too busy to notice that a bus had stopped to pickup passengers. He and his passengers accelerated into the backend of said bus.

You and Marty had some wacky adventures with Biff! Did you make it to the Enchantment Under The Sea dance on time?

Hey little cute brunette in the white Civic- QUIT TEXTING AT EVERY LIGHT ON BARLOW, THEREFORE HOLDING UP DOZENS OF PEOPLE, YOU INCONSIDERATE TWIT.
I'm certain Sally won't die if you wait 15 more minutes till you get over there to for your slumber party to chat. I'm sure Bobby's meanness to Tammy will still be just as mean once you get there in 14 minutes.

Between you in the middle, the mini van with 9 kids in the back in the left lane, and the 120 year old geriatrics in the right, you created a traffic jam at 8 pm, with people missing lights.

No cute girl-bias from me anymore. From now on you're getting the horn like any other prick taking 8 seconds to get moving off the green.

Thanks.

Reason #8,000,000 that I hate cell phone drivers... Driving up McLeod a few minutes ago, trying to make a left turn, there's a beautiful break in traffic, or at least there would be, if not for the one stupid straggling beyotch holding her cell phone there above her steering wheel, trying to dial. Thanks, honey. I didn't really want to go yet anyways. It's a nice intersection to sit at, that one.

Is it me or does it seem like 9 out of 10 pickup drivers insists on being the tailgating hero that goes out of their way not to signal? It's annoying when you're stuck in front of one of these guys on John Laurie/McKnight where riding brakes is the cool thing to do.

I hate to be the good-driving preacher and I will admit that I make mistakes when I drive, but they're mistakes involving the simple, basic elements of being a decent driver.

Edit: The worst part of tailgaters is when they do it to you and your not the one holding up traffic. I'm not going to speed up and tailgate the guy in front of me.

I have a new one.

When we're at an uncontrolled intersection or even an intersection with a green light staring you in the face and you have the right of way......DO NOT wave me through to be nice or because you are confused.

Let's just follow the rules of the road and we'll be fine.

It also bugs me when pedestrians do the same thing.

I mean I am already stopped waiting for you, just walk already. If we sit here and try to get the other guy to go for 30 seconds it is just wasting more time.

On a similar note, I hate drivers that will stop and wave you across as a pedestrian when your jay walking. While I appreciate the gesture, please just keep going and I'll wait until there's no traffic as opposed to taking my chances that everyone else will stop as well. And don't give me the 'oh jay walking is so bad' garbage either, Calgary is the only city I've ever lived in where people treat jay walking about on par with kicking kittens.

In Denver, the people don't even want you to stop for them at crosswalks. It was hard learning to not yield to pedestrians, and similarly hard to re-learn when I got home.

Ha, a couple of years ago I was doing grocery trip for my work and when I pulled up to the lights I look out my window and some kid has his huge hairy ass sticking right out at me. I see his friends all laughing and I admit I thought it was funny. The light turns green and I drive maybe about 20m past the light and I hear a siren turn on. Then I see a police car chase after them and they get pulled over.

Then I was laughing my ass off. The funniest thing that has ever happened to me while driving.

what's the deal with people not knowing what to do in a round-about??

maybe it's just the 'retirement age' here in kelowna, but i think it's pretty simple - you do NOT stop in a round-about to let someone enter!!

3 times this year people have stopped in front of me in a round-about to let someone in. i know round-abouts are relatively new in kelowna (first one showed up 3 or so years ago), but come on - it's not rocket science!

I almost got hit by a car today, was close enough to touch it.

I live in Edmonton and was crossing 83rd ave and 109st intersection going towards Safeway. The 9 (hugeass bus) frequently goes down 109th and is usually on the right side right before 83rd ave to pick people up. It stopped right at the crosswalk because I was crossing, but it was so close to me that it blocked my view of on coming traffic and vice versa. I walk out and holy FFF a car was going about 70 km/hr came out and my jacket brushed his dirty ass car. Thank you dumbass bus and thank you dumbass speeder.
