I think people should be more careful about using names of actual people, especially those who are or have been in the spotlight and are very identifiable publicly.

Fair enough, but I thought it was pretty obviously a joke (although apparently I was wrong) and it wouldn't have BEEN a joke if I hadn't used the name of an actual "former Flame". In the future I'll just resist the temptation altogether...
