Just because you can walk around a pylon like me doesn't make you a professional!!
(Great run at the end of the season though!)

Well since posting the above almost six years ago, the recession took me back to Calgary and into Insurance. Not the job you grow up dreaming about, but it pays the bills

I'm a financial advisor and deal with all kinds of investments. I am also fully licensed as an insurance advisor for life, disability and other personal insurance.
I see that there are a couple of P&C insurance brokers in the thread, and I would like to talk to you!

How about a guarantee of 10% over ten years? I could guarantee you that!

I'm a sell out, a meandering hobo, a backpacker, a filthy slut, and when I get home I have to be an adult.

Didn't "Albert" from the Canadian Tire ads wear #7?
I'm currently finishing my law degree and will begin articling with a large, national firm this summer.

This post makes me laugh – that was my first year of business school and since then I’ve worked at two separate internships in different industries, graduated from university, and been a part of a new graduate program within in the investment banking industry. Now after all that I’m back full-time at Colliers working with some of the same people I did back in 06 and am loving it. Seems things have come full circle.

Wow this thread is old..
I went from designing GPS receivers to working on airborne imaging radar systems to developing mobile apps for iOS/Android.

I do Channel Management for a telecomm/UC corporation.
Just started, and looks to be a fun and challenging job.

I'm a lover
And I'm a sinner
playin' my music in the sun
I'm a joker
I'm a smoker
I'm a mid-night toker
I get my lovin' on the run

I didn't post in 2006 but back then I was finishing my undergrad @ U of C and was starting a law degree and worked for the Calgary Bar Association and some legal research firms but decided that it wasn't for me.
I spent some time trying out my creative side in web development, graphic design, and music production for fun. Being an artist is a pretty good way to end up penniless so I went to SAIT and swapped careers into IT.
I'm an IT subcontractor for a multi-national oil & gas company. Full-time I'm starting work soon for the people the Saddledome used to be named after. Still early in this career track and not sure where I want to end up. Would love any advice from the plethora of IT guys here on CP on what's hot or interesting to focus on. Hopefully in another 6 years I'll finally be settled on something and can come back to this thread and laugh.
I spend my days jealous of my cousin, who has the same technical and creative leanings as I do but he gets to use them both as he makes videogames up in Deadmonton
