To bump this very old thread.
Interesting to read what everyone else does. How many have changed careers since 2006? Especially wondering about DFF and a couple others.

I own and operate my own design and build company (renovations), everything from full scale kitchen or baths to replacing a faucet. My current project is a wine cellar. I also Have my own line of wall decor (clocks and artwork) that I am developing and selling.
I have aspirations to start into a line of coffee tables, bed frames, headboards and lamps etc, featuring reclaimed/salvaged wood used in a modern setting. Lots of designs ready to go, I just have not gone into prototypes yet.

Yeah, there's actually been a lot of change in my life in 4 years. Back in 2008 I didn't even know my field existed. Probably switched around that time. Started taking some museum studies courses and am now working at Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. Currently as a project manager assistant. But I started there as a curatorial assistant helping to curate and install the exhibits.

Lol... well I did it, I'm living the dream. I have been in consulting since about 3 months after this was posted.

That's an awesome job. When I was in university, I was seriously contemplating going and doing a Master's in Museum Studies/Conservation, but ended up in Archival Studies. I'd still love to work in a museum.
