Chicago is probably on high alert based on the last couple of years. But still. He had to have done something if they aren’t worried about a wrongful dismissal suit.

Especially when you're the organization whose recently deceased owner was part of one the largest sexual assault cover ups in recent memory.

I feel awful for Bedard and his family. 20 games in to your career as the best prospect since McDavid and all people are talking about is a lie about your mom banging your teammates.
That’s not fair to the kid or his family.

Yeah. He’d have to be holding someone down and forcing it in their nose or something

To have him say it had nothing to with player's families to *try* to kill that discourse. It won't of course. But now they can the Bedard camp they tried.

No, but it probably would, in order to validate a contract termination. $4M dollars at stake, and a union to defend it

Well if that's the case he will file a grievance with the NHLPA and it will come out anyhow.

I don’t think so based on previous precedent. Kane wasn’t charged with anything and his contract was terminated. Worst case is if they are wrong they have to pay out part of his contract balance.

Does it make me a bad person that I want Perry to head to the Oilers and snipe Connor’s wife next?

You can get fired for just about anything. But that isn't the same thing. As long as you pay severance, there is lots of leeway.
But terminating a contract requires clear and specific cause

The hawks didn't care when the players on the team used homophobic slurs against a rape victim.
