Based on what davidson said, it only involves perry and non-teammates. And it's a workplace incident.
So substance abuse with complications (like shows up drunk and he refused treatment).
Or harassment of employee that involves hate speech of some kind.

The fact he was choking up and called what transpired "disturbing", it can't be good.

Which I think is silly, since it was very obviously not true from the get go. This is Richard Gere and a Gerbil levels of insanity.

I'd say they did. Flat out stated numerous times that whatever happened, it happened strictly within the team and didn't involve any players or their families
Anyone saying otherwise is flat out trolling at this point

Something clearly happened a team facility. He said they found out about in Columbus but didn't say the issue occurred in Cbus.
They probably CAN'T say much more because of the high amount of money both parties are spending on lawyers right now.

Yup, which suggests it's other support staff involved etc. He also said the team isn't fully aware of what Perry did.

I mean I went to Warrener’s roast and he was joking about Gio buying Monahan and Gaudreau coke. I don’t think that would be worth a contract termination. We will see if the NHLPA files on behalf of Perry

If that's the state of affairs in the world right now, something needs to change. A vet player taking a rookie, who is a professional athlete over 18, for a few drinks shouldn't result in termination of a multi-million dollar contract.
It has to be something either racist, involving fairly extreme harassment or to do with sexual misconduct and/or drugs. This is a very harsh punishment Perry is receiving.

I think there is a certain subset of folks who don't realize how ubiquitous nose candy is. Especially in Alberta.

But we know police aren't involved. So its unlikely sexual or physical in nature.
So its verbal. What can you say to someone that is so offside? You either attack their religion, race or gender or sexual orientation. That's where my mind goes.

My quick read on that is that he got creepy with some staff members and they don’t want to say anything before the facts are straightened out. Who knows though

Not at all. Again, it is going to come out, why would you prolong the rumour mill? Nothing was made clear at all, if anything it is going to cause more crazy speculation.

Workplace sexual harassment doesn’t need to rise to the level of criminality to be firing worthy

I don't think simple drug use would cause a termination, or would be "disturbing" to an NHL GM, unless they live under a rock. Unless he was peer pressuring another player or something like that. If it was just drug use, they would have given him an opportunity to go into the NHLPA assistance program.

I answered it when someone else asked a similar question. Like many things it's nuanced and requires the state of my relationship to be considered. Normal, happy healthy and in a good place with open communication? A twitter rumour that has inexplicably started in regards to me is a whatever thing. If it's not true, water of a duck's back.

Because if they terminated his contracts because someone accused him of harassing them and then it turns out they are wrong and they publicly blasted him then they are in a lot more trouble than keeping it hush hush
