Is anyone else done with the NHL for a while? I can't be the only one with the urge to stop caring.
I was feeling this way a lot this playoffs.
Between the betting ads, the refs and just trying to focus on what's more important in life, it's hard to care as much right now.
I really wanted the Flames to be in the playoffs for me to enjoy a game with my first child who's due in a week and we have all his Flames gear ready.
But the Flames and NHL let me down as always of course.
I will say the winner against Dallas was a great memory and I'm happy Johnny played some good playoff hockey and Backlund was great.
There were some positives although it's hard to feel them right now with so many negatives.

I'd be curious to see where this series racks up all time, at least since the dead puck era, for bad save percentages.
Yeah I would have to say Markstrom sv% and GAA has to rank as one of the worst since Dead Puck. Haven’t looked at stats carefully though. Historically embarrassing performance.
Markstroms legacy is imprinted in Battle of Alberta history forever unfortunately.
The NHL is a joke. The rulebook changes every ####ing game. Why do I even bother watching this #### I'm so mad about this. You can youtube countless goals that counted that had more of a kicking motion then the goal that was overturned tonight.
Here's a couple
How are either of these good goals, but in some planet our goal tonight wasn't?
this times a million

Can't answer about Gaudreau, but Kylington and Andersson can't hold it down in their own zone against larger players. They can move the puck but can't move bigger guys. Plus they made brain fart after brain fart leaving guys wide open. Showed a lot.
LOL Hanifin was putrid. and he has trade value. Bye bye. Get the ark ready.

Yeah, both of those should also have been disallowed.
Might be sacrilege to say, but Sutter got out-coached by Woodcroft.
There were lots of surprising things in this series, but to me, this is by FAR the most surprising. I'm stunned that he never found a way to adjust the game plan.

won that game fair and square and should be a game 6 Saturday.
Zero question about that. Zero.
Well, there was six minutes left. Who knows.
But the key difference between this and 2004 is that 2004 was an easy one to miss, and it's a close call. This one was just... the only way you disallow that is that you don't know what the rule is, you're corrupt, or you're simply stupid. I'm going with option 3 here. I just think they're not very intelligent people.
Now, the fact that there were six minutes left leads one to wonder why they initiated the review without an Oilers challenge... I still haven't heard a good explanation for that.

Neither team got good goaltending but Markstrom couldn’t make a big save. You aren’t going to win any series with an .853 save percentage and 8.5 goals allows above expected.

What a messed up 2-4 weeks ahead. If the Oilers continue to roll and dispatch the Avs and say Lightning and win the cup. Then what? Maybe we got beat fairly by the cup champs, but then they the cup champs.
They go out to the Avs soundly? Then we suck bad like real bad.
It’s getting worse before it gets better either way folks.
