But you can't dismiss all deviations from expected as 'fortunate'. Sometimes it's because you kicked ass. And the top line, this year, kicked ass. Saying they were fortunate, and produced above expected, is just not giving them the credit they deserve.

Can they do that again next year? Unlikely. But that doesn't mean they aren't full marks for this year. They have been, hands down, and all season long, the best line in the game. Consistently. Saying they have been fortunate because they have produced above expected, is missing the forest for the trees.
I think you are reading too much into Bingo's comments. I don't think anyone is taking anything away from what the top line has accomplished by pointing out that things have also gone exceptionally well for them. Of course, they have earned it. But players who have spectacular years are also almost always fortunate. Crosby has had a season or two like that. So has Ovechkin. So has MacKinnon and every other NHL star.

Did he get implants?

And trying to recognize the location... looks familiar.

I am pretty sure that is Moose Mountain in the background. Is it McLean Creek?

They're probably dental flippers. I don't think he'll get implants until he retires.

I think we're kind of splitting hairs here aren't we?

You're pretty much saying the same thing. You're saying of course there's some luck involved, and you wonder if they can repeat it next year.

The Flames top line has an excellent expected goal split, so there's nothing fluke about them being a top line. But their actual results are way over the top and aren't completely supported by what they generate. They've had a good season where pucks are going in, and staying out when they're in their own zone.

Doesn't mean they're not a great line at all.

It's the same with Edmonton's elite players. I've stop suggesting it's not repeatable because it has been ... skill beats those numbers and that's certainly the case for the Flames.

But Johnny Gaudreau has the highest GF60 of any forward in the last three seasons, that's quite a leap.

I know Toffoli's girl was heartbroken about leaving Montreal but hopefully Banff and the mountains with their friends helped her come around a bit.

I know our weather lately probably didn't lol.

That was my initial thought but where are the falls? Or is this taken above them?

Pretty sure he still plays with no teeth. My guess is a removable retainer.

There may be implants in that photo but Tanev isn't the one with them.

Congrats to Lindholm getting his 40th of the season. I actually predicted he would hit 40 this season based on what I saw from him last year.

I just remember seeing him whiff on a bunch of one timers late last season and thought to myself, if he works hard this offseason on that one timer, he’s going to hit 40 with how well Tkachuk and Gaudreau find him open in the slot. He’s a rare breed, not a lot of 40 goal scorers who can say they’re Selke Trophy material as well.
