Not Elite teams as per the Coilers!

Correct…… playing the Kraken and Coyotes twice each so far is a far far tougher road……..

So....some one riddle me this.

Mangiapane was assessed a 10 minute misconduct at the end of regulation.

How was he able to take 3 shifts in OT then?

Yeah no idea, I thought it was at the end of OT for chirping the refs but the boxscore is showing the end of regulation.

I believe it was a game misconduct and that it was at the end of OT. I would also like to know what the heck happened

Nice to see not all fans are as clueless as the Oilers' fans.

I thought I saw him circle back to a ref to say something at the end of OT. Maybe happened then.

All the Phaneuf drama leading up to the trade and after pretty much tanked us. While he absolutely had to go, I think losing the (perceived) future captain of the team was a blow the Flames never recovered from until Iginla was traded. If that trade hadn’t happened I think we likely would have been a contender on paper for a few more years.

But I do also remember feeling that 09/10 team felt a bit smoke and mirrors during their first 25 games. Lots of goals spread out between the lineup, Bouwmeester was underwhelming, Jokinen had one or two games he played well but wasn’t at all fitting in with Iginla, and Dion was having the worst season of his career. It became clear we made a mistake choosing Jokinen over Cammellari.

Once the scoring from our 3rd and 4th liners dried up we were in big trouble.
I remember watching that horrifying loss to the Hawks during that season, when they were up 5-1 after 1, and thinking "Yeah, not a playoff team."
That being said, unreal start to the season and go FLAMS

Well that would help the narrative that the Oilaz and McDacvid are the greatest team to ever play hockey since Gretzky was around.

I loved the shoot-out reaction from the Flames.

- Tanev not even watching the Chucky goal and staring dead at centre-ice like he has some superstition

- Gaudreau was so excited he leaped over the bench and almost fell down like a toddler

- Lucic and Markstrom were full hands in the air

- Anaheim commentators ran circles around Cassie Clunky's commentating. They immediately referenced Forsberg at the Olympics. Cassie just described it like someone who had never watched hockey before. I pretty much watch the opponent's home feed at all times over Sportsnet now since their team is so bad.
