What a terrible season. I was so excited for the distraction of NHL hockey, but now I'd rather watch the Hinshaw updates than Flames games.

His confidence, having to play with a team of uninterested, overpaid players.

Top of the draft is pretty defenceman-heavy.

Centre-wise we’ve got:

Matthew Berniers (FC ranked 7)
Kent Johnson (FC ranked 8)
Aatu Raty (FC ranked 11)

Wasn’t Raty rated very highly sometime back, even supposed to be a potential first overall pick?

Looks like he has fallen off

I can’t believe how brutal this team has been. I thought the Sutter magic would work right away but if anything it is exposing this team even more.

I think if this was a 82 game season they could turn it around but they are done this year no way they go 16-6 down the stretch here.

As a STH I'm glad not to be paying to watch this group, but I find I'm getting further from caring every damn time they lace up their skates. At this rate there isn't a hope in hell I renew. I felt optimistic with the coaching change. It lasted all of 3 games.

I think the owners are in for a world of hurt once things get back to normal and they have to start selling season tickets again.
I think that’s part of the reason they hired Darryl.

I think it hurts more because I had checked out and then got all hopeful that Sutter was back. Can't polish a turd into a diamond...

I live in a small town and the conversations are often around how bad this team is. My neighbours will be asking what happened to my flag. In hinsight I should have out it at half mast.

Giordano’s play has dropped off a cliff, as would be expected for any player of his age.

Backlund is a good defensive centre but is streaky offensively and can’t be relied on to provide secondary scoring when the Monahan line gets shut down.

For all his skill and emotion, Tkachuk has not shown an ability to have a big impact in important games.

The leadership group has not shown the ability to step up in crunch time.
I agree with everything you said. Just not sure if some can be repaired in-house or not.

Same here. What this pandemic has shown me is that I don't really miss driving, paying for parking, paying for food and beer, getting home late, battling crowds etc when I can watch on tv. And with the team sucking so bad its awfully easy to switch the channel. I'd say I'm 75% not renewing 25% renew at this point.

The couple with seats beside us that we keep in touch with has told us they are 100% out. They're losing long time fans and it just makes me sick.

I couldn’t believe how excited I was when they rehired Sutter.

Tuned into Fan960 for the first time in over a year, listened to morning show, big show, pre games. So pumped to watch the Montreal games and loved what I saw, a different team completely.

Oilers games. Pumped to see the battle of Alberta. The team looked off, like the new bump was fading. But got the split. Radio back to my music stations.

Leafs games. Won the first game they had no business winning. But all the high energy and fast play from the Canadiens series had vanished. The shutout was putrid hockey.

Sens games. Totally lacked enthusiasm to watch. Felt like the normal Flames were back and the Sutter effect had worn off. Stuck out game one. Nothing entertaining or enthralling about it. Didn’t even turn the game on today.

Alarming how fast it all faded. The players excelled in sucking the new life out pretty quick.

I’ll be taking a break from following completely. Hoping for personnel changes.

But feel for the fans who will stick through and watch the remainder of the games. Tip my hat to those. I salute the passion.
